How can I comfort my girlfriend about our relationship? Also, I listen to what she says, but she wants me to help make her feel better. Her mother just had both of her knees replaced. What can I say to her?

WTF, are you comforting her about your relationship or her mother? I’m totally confused?

@air1221: With as much respect as I can muster up I’m going to explain a couple of things to you.

1: We know nothing about your relationship with your girlfriend…nothing.
2. We cannot offer you any advice, constructive or otherwise without some details.
3.How old are you, how old is she, how long have you been dating, what does she need comforting for, is she feeling insecure, if so – why, what are you supposed to make her feel better about, do you want to comfort her, if so – why, if not -why not?
4.Her mother had knee replacement surgery, ok. Tell her it’s an amazing surgery, she’s lucky her mom was a candidate and take her some flowers. If her mom follows the Dr’s advice, she might feel a world better than she did before. It seems it would be her Mom that needs comforting.
5. If you really want help here, you need to ask for it constructively and with some clarification. Read over some other questions and see how to make use of the topics and other features. The main page will also direct you in some basic guidelines.
Good Luck.

You can’t make her feel better. That’s her job.

To the mother I would say “Race ya to the corner of the block?!”

Give her a hug. Tell her you love her (if you do). Tell her everything will be alright (if it will). That’s about it.
