Are you excited because you’re a pitcher or a catcher?

TenaciousDenny's avatar

No, but I’ll be able to spend work time sitting in my cubicle on cincinnatireds.com reading about the pitchers and catchers taking physicals, stretching, warming up, soft tossing, and doing some live pitching, which is WAY cooler than actually being a professional baseball player, right?

@TenaciousDenny: Hopefully the Reds can finally make it over that hump this year. Young team with a lot of potential. Pitching will still be the issue though.

nope. training camp starts for me in the summer. i’m excited for the draft.

@TenaciousDenny less likely to be slapped in the ass, i suppose.

@Buckeye Yeah, the Reds have a lot of question marks both pitching and offensively. A lot of young guys need to have big years at the plate, and we need more consistency out of some pitchers (Arroyo and Cueto), Harang needs to have a bounceback year, and Volquez needs to quit carrying guns and prove last year was no fluke. To be honest, I’m not really expecting the Reds to do a whole lot this year, so if they do make an impact in the playoff race, it would be a pleasant surprise. But either way, even with the steroid cloud hanging over it, I love baseball season and can’t wait until Reds game are on every night.

Hell, yes! That means my New Year’s day is just around the corner.
Humm-Baby! Go Giants!

I’m glad to see I’m not the only baseball fan around here.

Astro’s right. The year starts and ends with baseball, specifically the Red Sox!

In our apartment it is baseball all the time especially with the fantasy team gearing up. Drafts and trades oh my! Oh yeah we’re really into it!

I’m totally excited!!! I love baseball and am a huge Red Sox fan. And I totally agree – once spring training starts, the winter just seems to pass by quicker.

I’m still in mourning for the end of football season. I’ll start to think spring and have my thoughts turn to steroidball soon.

AstroChuck's avatar

Oh, yeah. No steroid use in the NFL.

C’mon, AC, sure there is, but that does not excuse A-Roid and the rest.

I’ve been reading http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/ daily for months, longing for the season to start again. I’m a fantasy baseball nut. I won both of my leagues last year. That qualifies me for nut-hood.

And it’s a good time to be a Cubs and Red Sox fan. And to see the Yankees bite the dust last year. I love baseball. I’ll be much more excited for opening day than (yawn) spring training.

autumn43's avatar

Opening Day is one of the BEST days of the year. I was in a lottery to have a chance to get Opening Day Red Sox/Yankees tickets. Didn’t get the chance. That would have been SOOO sweet!

@autumn43,
I was also in that lottery, and sadly, I also didn’t win. :(
