Does OS X keep a log of Users who have logged onto the machine?

Asked by benseven (3189points) February 24th, 2009

Trying to track down malicious use of a Mac Admin account, and need to find log files that show which user logged on when. Had a dig around in console but not sure what kind of entry I’m looking for. Any ideas?

You could try

cat /private/var/log/secure.log

in the Terminal. It isn’t perfect but it could help. I can’t find a perfect list but digging in /var/log will give you tons of info.
