Dashboard currency converter messed up, cant afford this thing I got from ebay!

Asked by Lost_World (1231points) March 15th, 2009

Ok this is relay annoying, the currency converter from the mac dashboard has completely messed up and told me the wrong info. So I then went to ebay and got all this stuff (which I played for) I then find out and go OMG I don’t want to pay for all that but I already had. At the back it said yahoo so I went to yahoo and redid the conversion on their site and it was the right price.

So um now what do I do? Is there anyone that you think I can contact?

I think technically a bid on an auction site is legally binding, just as it is in a real auction. If the auction hasn’t ended you still have time to cancel your bid. If the auction has ended you could contact the seller and explain the situation. Best case scenario is they cancel the sale and give you negative feedback.

Seriously though, talk to the sellers. More often than not they will understand. You might have to stomach some negative feedback, as Lightlyseared said, but you will probably not have to pay up.
Also, I don’t condone this, but if you don’t pay, the police aren’t going to come looking for you. You will just be flagged and, depending on the number of items you don’t pay for, perhaps not be able to buy or sell on ebay again.

Talk to the sellers, and next time, double check your calculations a few different places. I’m more inclined to believe this was human error.

Whoops. I missed that.
Looks like you’re in a pickle then, but you don’t need me to tell you that.
