It's my birthday today. I'm 33. Should people celebrate birthdays after 30?

Of course. Any excuse to have a good time is okay, especially the anniversary of your entrance into the world.
At my house, birthdays celebrating doubles (22, 33, 44, etc…) means double shots.

Happy Birthday but no, you shouldn’t be celebrating after 29yrs old. Now you’ll be 33 forever instead of 29.

Oh, yeah. What’s wrong with me?
Have a happy birthday!

of course!!!!!!!!! happy bday!!!!!

Definitely! We all need at very least one day to celebrate ourselves. I know some people that don’t want to celebrate getting older, but I say get over it, we all get old, now celebrate you!

Happy Birthday!

Happy Birthday! Celebrate! Maybe even do a bit of drunk fluthering. You can entertain us all this evening. ;)

Happy Birthday man,—now go call your mom and thank her!—;)
And I say yes, find any reason to celebrate!

casheroo's avatar

Go for it! I’ll always celebrate my birthday..I don’t mind getting older :) Happy birthday!

Have a very Happy Birthday and many more! People should celebrate birthdays throughout their entire lives, in my humble opinion. To each their own, though, I guess. =)

bythebay's avatar

Yes you should celebrate! A toast to you and all your glorious self. Cheers!

bobbyb_'s avatar

Hell yeah you should, & happy birthday!

Happy Birthday!!! Celebrate the hell out of 33. That’s how old Jesus was in his prime.

Dansedescygnes's avatar

My parents’ birthdays get celebrated each year and they’re both 50.

cak's avatar

Of course you should! You just started a new year in your life – cheers and I wish you all the best! :)

Of course you should celebrate your birthday! You can also celebrate your unbirthday, too. That has the advantage of being easier to remember since you have 364 of them every year and only one birthday.

I have been celebrating my birthday every year for many decades. I just celebrate my 19th birthday over and over again.

A_Beaverhausen's avatar

its just another legit reason to get black out drunk,. LETS PARTY!

Jeruba's avatar

Absolutely! Here you go, @KalWest.

Celebrate unbirthdays too! Happy birthday.

@VzzBzz, I’d rather be 33 forever than 29 forever. I learned a lot in those four years.

Have a wonderful birthday!

You definitely should celebrate every birthday. On a somber note, my mom had cancer a number of years ago so every time she celebrates her birthday, she’s glad she’s still here to celebrate it.

I hope that didn’t dampen the mood.

SpatzieLover's avatar

Depends on whether or not you have kids…if so, start celebrating with VAST amounts of caffeine early in the day…then follow with whatever you have fun doing…drinking, eating, great sex..all of the above?!

KalWest's avatar

@Jeruba

Ummm. that cake looks yummy
Thanks ;-)

@Everybody

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

Of course you should continue to celebrate! I have been 29 for a few years now! :)

cwilbur's avatar

I’ve avoided celebrating my birthday as much as possible since I turned 21. I don’t think there’s any reason not to celebrate in general, but I don’t like the celebration, so I don’t.

KalWest's avatar

@cwilbur
I know what you mean – but I also see it’s sometimes more for the people who you are connected with than for yourself.

bythebay's avatar

@cwilbur: That’s it… @KalWest gets to eat your piece of cake!

bythebay's avatar

@KalWest: Enjoy it, I cut you the piece with the flower on it!
BTW, did you have a nice birthday?

KalWest's avatar

@bythebay

yeah – but way too much eating. Co-workers got a cake, s/o and I went out to an awesome French restaurant I really like (if you’re in Los Angeles – it’s called Ortolan – amazing – expensive – but amazing) and then a few days before that s/o parents took us out to eat also (I get along very well with his folks) ... so – yeah – it’s been great – BUT I’M GOING TO SPIN CLASS TONIGHT! lol

cwilbur's avatar

@bythebay: I don’t restrict myself to only having cake on my birthday!

It’s not that I don’t like birthday parties in general – it’s that I don’t really like being the center of attention on my birthday.

bythebay's avatar

@cwilbur: ok, I take back my pooper comment
