Is he telling me the truth?

Asked by emmy23 (256points) March 27th, 2009

Ok so some of you mite have read my question from yesterday, others maybe not. But you see i said that I had major trust issues with guys cuz of past relationships. Well this guy that I met, I took a chance with him and went out with him. Everything was perfect. We even made plans to go to the movies tonight. But yesterday night, he texted me shortly after we hung out saying that he was grounded cuz of his grades until further notice. The convo got very vague after that and finally he just stopped texting me. Is that a bad sign?

He might have been in a bad mood, men don’t interpret things the same way. Give it a while longer before you start dissecting things.

He might have just been done with the conversation.
Texting is a terrible way to communicate in the beginning of a relationship.

I agree with that. The number of times me and my Fiance have fallen out because of the nature of text messages is innumerable.

Yeah, wait until you see him f2f again, and then talk. Perhaps his parents were nearby. You have no idea, so don’t create stress for yourself by jumping to conclusions.

Yes, dont jump into conclusions. Relationships get ruined when people start analyzing everything. So wait, maybe he was an explanation.

Unless there is some reason to assume he is not telling the truth (like you go to the mall and see him there or you have caught him in several lies in the past), why would you not believe him?

You cannot saddle him with the behaviors of guys you have known in the past. If you do, you will doom the relationship.

I generally assume people are telling the truth until proven otherwise. Don’t go looking for trouble.

Did you question him a lot on the reason? Did you make it sound like you didn’t believe him? I understand you have trust issues, but if you hold those against future relationships, you will continue to have relationship problems.

Give him a day or two, text him, see if he’s doing okay. If you questioned him and didn’t trust him, you probably owe him an apology.

Well it turns out I was right. He completely stopped talking to me. We havent spoken in days. We also work together. He completely avoided me and didnt speak a word to me. I dont no what I did wrong. I do no that a couple people at our work no about our kiss cuz i told my best friend and she told a couple people at work. Im thinking maybe that has something to do with it, or maybe he just stopped liking me. I dont no =(

I have to say I got a vibe that something was up when I read your question.

Trust your gut feelings.

Best not to jump to conclusions, especially negative ones about yourself because it would be something that is going on with him.
It’s best to not try and work out possible reasons either….you will just drive yourself crazy.

If you do speak later you could ask him to put your mind at ease, but try and leave it be for now.
