How do I rip dvds to put them onto my Ipod?

I have a 5th Gen 30 GB ipod video and I have tons of space left for movies. I have purchased many dvds and want to put them onto my ipod. How do I do this. I have a windows comp running sp2.

A great program to use is called HandBrake. It’s available for all operating systems, doesn’t take hardly anything to run, and is really easy to use. It even has presets for iPods. You can find it

Handbrake to create MP4 files, and iTunes to sync them over to the iPod. Hanbrae creates files that iTunes recognizes as movies by default, so you may want to edit the movie info tags to something meaningful.
