Is there a ' storage ' site somewhere on the web that allows users to upload docs or save them from the internet?

Google Docs and Zoho Writer also allow you to edit them online. You can also just upload stuff to MediaFire or Box.net.

That’s grand .. cheers… What about when I convert a web page to pdf with the firefox add on, is it possible to save to a personal folder on one of these utilities without pasing through the save-to-desktop passage?

I like Dropbox. It basically creates a folder on your computer that you can throw stuff into that you want synced online. I’ve never had a problem with it.

@dverhey In that case you’d still need to download it to your desktop.

As for converting a web page to PDF – no, you can’t if you use the Firefox add-on, as that add-on creates it on your desktop. No way to circumvent that. However, a Google search turned up ExpressPDF which I suppose you could use in combination with Mailinator to receive PDF’s online.

And perhaps if you install Google Gears you can also just copy text from a webpage into a Google Docs file.

Right, yeah. Didn’t read the full question. It also has an upload from the internet method, though. I think it kinda defeats the purpose, though. Oh well.

I just use fluther. But only for small bits of information in the form of questions and answers. For larger documents, I edit the crap out, and then again use fluther’s question or answer option. In fact, I use it for all of my files, including photos: I just change the avatar with photos now and then.

All you really need is fluther.

@Anatelostaxus : when i was in Ireland with my wife last year, we were standing outside a restaurant in Clifden study the menu exhaustively when suddenly i realized that i was blocking some one else’s view, so i scuttled abruptly out of the way and said “Oh! Excuse me,i didn’t realize i was in your way!” and the woman said “No, no, you’re grand, you’re brilliant,” and i said to her, “Please tell that to my wife.”
