What crap thing happened today...

The idea for the question name simply came from Trustinglife’s “what great thing happened today”.
But in fact the question itself is just a chance to tell many fluthers simultaneously a couple of things. Feel free to delete it in a couple of days because yes, I know it’s not a valid question.
First of all, a big thank you to everyone that has been sending me PMs regarding my daughter. And also to everyone else who’s made comments or asked about her on threads, and all of you who have been thinking about her and (to the more religious ones) have had her in your prayers.
I was hoping today would be a joyous day for me, and that I’d eventually have some good news, and thank you all with a post saying “my daughter is on my lap smiling while I’m writing this”. Unfortunately this is not the case, and it seems my struggle will be a lot longer than originally expected. There was a serious drawback today, and I don’t know what I’ll do next.
Please do not send me messages asking details, I really don’t want to talk about it. I just wanted to thank you now that I have the chance.
Sorry to the moderators for this non-question, I ask for your patience before deleting it so that some people that might be wondering what’s going on get a chance to read it.

Now to the meat of it: Jack I am so sorry to hear that. I can’t even imagine how hard it is to be away from your daughter for this long. You are so much stronger than anyone I know.
Someday (hopefully soon) you will be reunited with her and she will get to feel the comfort and love that comes from an outstanding dad such as you.
Don’t give up hope. I will keep you in my thoughts.
I’m not one of the religious sorts but my thoughts and best wishes are with you. You are such a thoughtful Dad; I hope things work out better for you soon.
I’m sorry to hear that another Flutherite is going through a hard time. Though I’m really not aware of what’s happening with your daughter (only thing I know is that she isn’t well), please do keep in mind that there’s always light at the end of the tunnel. Stay strong.
I seem to have missed this whole problem Jack. Although I don’t know the particulars, I will only say that I hope very much that things turn for the better. Take care of yourself in the interim.

As for your recent drawback, I don’t know the details, I will respect your wishes by not asking, but I will let you know that I am giving what support I can from this fluther answer and am hoping that things do turn out for the best. Stay strong for your daughter, that might just be the turning point. Best wishes in these dark times, my friend.

Our date? what date? eh? I’m sure I’d never forget a date with someone as lovely as you Lynne. Even if I have to fly all the way to a place I can’t even locate on a map of Manchester. :)
