Where is the best, most reliable place to purchase Visual Studio 2008?

Asked by thrice2k3 (309points) July 30th, 2009

No longer in school, I’m not sure Academic discounts would work for me and I’m pretty sure an OEM version will work… and upgrade versions are usually pretty easy to qualify for…

Just wondering if anyone has any tips for getting their hands on Visual Studio 2008…

Thanks in advance!

The most reliable source for a product would be, I assume, the makers of said product:

Newegg, maybe? Always had luck with them…

Express editions of the various languages are limited, but free.

@everyone Looks like the only place that I’m finding to download the software is at MS… and I can’t find any local places to pick it up so I have to deal with shipping product. Also, by “best and most reliable”, I guess I meant inexpensive as well…

I’ve tried the express versions and while nice to check stuff out… I’m going to need a more complete offering.

Thanks for all the help!

If you know someone at a university they usually have really cheap software like this. Your employer might also have some reduced pricing options if you know who to ask.
