Have you ditched your iPhone? What phone did you go to after?

I am constantly pondering the question “what is android like?”. Cause honestly at times I get very bored with my iPhone. Its a good phone and all, I am just curious what else is out there.
I use Google docs, reader, calendar, and gmail. It worth switching to an android phone?
What did you switch to and why?

I haven’t ditched it yet but I am very tempted by the Palm Pre.
@Lightlyseared make sure you dont cut yourself with the Palm Pre’s edges. I like the OS but the edges can easily cut a slice of cheese. (not sure why I picked cheese to describe it though)
The newer Sidekick. It does everything the iPhone does, without the heavy pricetag. The phone and data plan are affordable, as well.

@willbrawn here in the UK I have yet to actually see a pre. I spent most of the 90’s with some variety of palm pilots and I still have a bit of nostalgia for palm.
Everything I’ve read about people trying other phones, they always come back to the iPhone or are disappointed by every other phone. I know I’ll never use anything else, but I personally have a bias for Apple products. Even people that don’t though seem to think something is missing with the Pre and Android.
@StellarAirman i like Apple products myself, and I would consider the iPhone perfect if it gave me MobileMe feature like syncing for free. I guess thats my biggest issue.
You can sync your google calanders and contacts using exchange.
I was considering an iphone but a mate of mine has been trying to talk me out of it. He continues to rave on and on about the Nokia 5800 Touch and the Nokia N97.
Personally, I am still attracted to the iphone but thought I would put it out there. Food for thought…
I have a friend who switched to the Palm Pre
I ditched my iPhone for the iPhone 3GS. Haha just kidding. But if I ever did ditch my iPhone I would definitely get the Palm Pre. I want it so bad now but still not more than my iPhone. I wish I could have both.. Mmm…
I never had one in the first place. Ive been with Android all the way and I love it. I recently got my friends Ipod touch (for free) and it was just terrible. It was slow and hard to use and most of my apps kept crashing. And their stupid keyboard is really annoying. I prefer my hard on my G1. Id highly suggest switching phones. Plus you dont have to pay for Android Apps.
