Can anyone help me with my mac/myspace problem?

Asked by jaketheripper (2779points) October 6th, 2009

I use myspace to listen to music. For some reason when I am at college myspace freezes my browser but when I go other places it does not. I am running firefox on a mac through a wireless network. My friends on the same network running windows have no problem. can anyone help me?

edit: for the record I have tried other browsers and while they don’ completely freeze i still cant access myspace music or video

download and run this program, see if that does it.

it could be some kind of plugin issue also.

make sure firefox is updated. 3.5.2 is the newest for macs right now I believe.

download the latest version of the flash player plugin

what firefox add-ons are running?

What are the specs of your computer? (model, processor, RAM, HDD, etc)

I have the most recent version of firefox with “all in one gestures”, colorful tabs, greasemonkey, and speed dial enabled. I have several other addons installed but not enabled. I am running OSX 10.5.8 on a macbook with a 2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo and 4 GB 667MHz DDR2 SDRAM and a 250 gig mac hd

try disabling all your add ons and see if that makes a difference.

try reinstalling flash plugin

try installing perian

try installing whatever version of flip4mac is free

these will make sure you can play any and all file formats you might encounter.

Try using Safari, Camino, and Opera, does the problem occur in these browsers?
