Is there a good, working youtube video downloader?

I am trying to download youtube videos and similar types of flv type files but there is no program online or download able that work? anybody has one that they know works?

if you’re using firefox. i highly recommend http://www.downloadhelper.net/
it doesn’t have the prettiest website. but it works well, without taking up much space and it is constantly being updated!

There’s many great firefox extensions. Try Miro out, it works great.

This may not apply to you but for those using Mac OS there’s a great app called TubeTV that does this quite well and has export presets for Apple TV, iPhone and iPod. Again it’s for Mac OS and it’s free.

TubeSock works great for me too, but I think if you’re on a PC you can just get the files from some folder somewhere?

I use zamzar.com because it doesn’t require you to install any software, automatically converts the video to your desired format, you don’t have to wait for the file to convert since they just email you a link to the download
