If you wanna go true, 60’s psychedelic, get an old school projector (like the kind used for overheads in high school) and light up a petri dish full of oil and colored water. It’s a very simple technique that renders a real TRIPPY effect, man…

It really depends on your set-up and computer. Most projectors should work. But to figure the cables we would need to know what projector and what computer.

And if you rent or buy a projector the guy will be able to tell you right away when you get it.

Modern projectors are pretty expensive

Interesting DVDs? Like porn?

10 minutes later: That was a stupidly flippant answer. What you should do is use old school monster movies with really bad effects. It will make your party more weirdly memorable than if you just found DVDs of random moving images, and it may confuse some of your guests into thinking they’re high. If you have an indie record store in your area, they probably have stuff like this, but you might be able to just rent them. It’s halloween, so the campier, the better.

Any film by Alejandro Jodorowsky would do. His films are filled with vivid, surreal imagery and symbolism. Also films by David Lynch (mainly Eraserhead) or Jan Svankmajer. Salvador Dali has also written/directed a couple of films which would work very well, IMO.

Thank you all for your replys…I appreciate them. I am definitely renting one..no need to buy, right?! I’ll probably skip the porn(ha!)...but everyones suggestions would work well.
