You can check out Askville if you dare, but this one is better, IMHO..

I was going to ention assvill…... I mean askville too, but those askvillans are mean.

sebastian_von_tulu's avatar

Fluther is all. ;)

janbb's avatar

Well, welcome to Fluther (if you stay)!

jrpowell's avatar

I use http://ask.metafilter.com/ a lot. It cost five bucks to join and you only get one question per week. But they have a lot of eyeballs and can answer damn near any weird ass question you have.

And if you think the mods are strict here. 90% of the off topic shit gets nuked on ask.mefi.

Welcome to fluther all ye who enter may not leave ;)

Fluther: Beyond this point, there be dragons.

THERE CAN ONLY BE ONE

hghgbvvn's avatar

I just don’t like it here, I’m sure there are more I’ve been to them but I’ve forgotten their names.

PretentiousArtist's avatar

There are none.
If you think there is,one then they’re just frontin’, know what I’m sayin’?

mcbealer's avatar

surely you jest?

PandoraBoxx's avatar

@hghgbvvn, I see you just joined two days ago. Since you cannot name any other sites on your own besides Jyte, I have to assume that you have minimal to non-existent experience with question and answer sites. Can you articulate what it is you don’t like, or do you just find it foreign?

Fred931's avatar

Been looking around for other Q&A sites, and I have to say that they are all bullsh!t, at least when compared to Fluther. Stick around and get hooked.

Beta_Orionis's avatar

@hghgbvvn why don’t you like it here?
Don’t worry, no one will judge you or attack you. Actually, your feedback might help improve the experience for other newcomers.

rangerr's avatar

We aren’t bad people here.. we like cake, pancakes and lolz.

avvooooooo's avatar

@rangerr LOLZ!!! Don’t get me started back on that damn cat website… I start clicking on “pictures you may like” and get sucked in! Ahhhhhhh!

rangerr's avatar

@avvooooooo Right? It’s like “haha, cute” then “d’awww” then “OMGLOLOLOL” then it’s just an hour of looking at cute cats.

Judi's avatar

Uh Oh, did I miss something? I don’t know LOLZ

asmonet's avatar

Jyte is nothing like Fluther. Jyte is a complete waste.

janbb's avatar

@Beta_Orionis Do you know I always read your name as Beta Onions?

Beta_Orionis's avatar

lolz (sometimes lulz) are the feelings are reactions evoked/provoked by internet humor. There are also lolcats, as seen here.

The most notable, historic, and influential lolcats are
Long Cat (who inspired the “Longcat is Long” [ more generally, x is x] meme” and
Ceiling Cat. If I were writing a my thesis on internet culture, I would liken them to minor deities.

They’ve all been spun out of the internet’s resident collective super consciousness known as 4Chan (NO, it does NOT actually take you there.)

Beta_Orionis's avatar

@janbb Yarnlady just admitted to doing that recently too. I can see how it would happen, but I even have a helpful diagram! :P

janbb's avatar

@Beta_Orionis Too subtle for these old eyes apparently!

Beta_Orionis's avatar

@janbb No worries! If you’re not familiar with astronomy, it’s a very natural and easy visual mistake. :)

Look I don’t keep wanting ago, Fluther just keeps saying questions are not to Fluther’s quality standard, or something like that so I want to go to another site, there’s nothing wrong in that. I am joined to other sites but I’ve forgotten their names so I can’t go back until I remember what the sites are called.

avvooooooo's avatar

@rangerr YOU CAN’T MAKE ME GO BACK THERE AND GET SUCKED IN FOR ANOTHER THREE HOURS!

@hghgbvvn You can 1) edit your questions and resubmit and/or 2) ask the moderators what was wrong and for help figuring out how to fix it.

Beta_Orionis's avatar

@hghgbvvn The standards are not so high, they’re just generally to help people understand your question. as @avvooooooo said, you can ask for help to understand why it’s not meeting the “quality standards.” Reading the guidelines might help a bit. That’s not a condescending suggestion, but a helpful one, so I hope you don’t take offense. They’re really not meant to be strict or mean, just to make Fluther a better environment.

I personally don’t know of any other Q&A sites besides Fluther, Askville, and Yahoo answers, but I guarantee this is a really great community, and the best for really great answers. If you stay for a little bit longer, you’ll get the hang of it.

hghgbvvn's avatar

@avvooooooo
I did do that, I asked the mods but they never got back so I just want to leave. If they say not to Fluther’s quality standard there isn’t much I can do so I’d rather just leave for another site.
@Beta_Orionis
I just want to go to another site where the mods are not constantly rejecting posts due to…. never mind, I’ll just search for myself.

Thanks anyway.

@hghgbvvn Don’t be frustrated because your questions are modded. There is a technique to asking questions and I’ll show it to you if you PM me your questions.

hghgbvvn's avatar

@NewZen
I’ll just send one for now.

sebastian_von_tulu's avatar

You could try searching Wakoopa like this or this for other Q&A communities… We’d rather you stuck around though :)
