Is MW2 a better buy than Uncharted 2?

Dr_C's avatar

Well I haven’t owned a game module since the early 90’s so I can only go by reviews from friends and family.. and from what i’ve heard MW2 blows everything else out of the water.
I usually will sit and watch some friends play on occasion (when the women let us have a guys night)... And i can telly ou some are very entertaining to watch… I remember on the PS2 loving Soul reaver and wrath of kir… and on the PS3 loving Assasin’s creed…. When i played with my old X-box i was a big fan of the splinter cell series and even prince of Persia (so you can see where my taste in games goes…). Hope this helps a bit.

Little Big Planet is so fun. Especially if you have someone to play with.
Folklore is also incredible if you like adventure/rpg games.
Of course I’m also really in love with Need for Speed Carbon and Undercover.

If you’re into extremely HARD hardcore hack’n’slash Demon Soul’s will stay in your system for ages. FPS Modern Warfare 2 can’t be beat. Coming soon is Bioshock 2 which I’m dying to play Assassins Creed 1 for the story and 2. Grand Turismo 5 should also be out soon. The God of War collections include both 1 and 2 and have been revamped for the PS3 with a bit better graphics to help new gamers get into God of War 3 that’s coming out soon. Darksiders looks like a twisted story that I think I’m going to thoroughly enjoy and Dante’s Inferno looks like Hell, literally, it takes place in the 7 layers of hell, looks awesome, also coming out soon.

Add me my PSID is the same as it is here.

What types of games are you into?

For PS3 exclusives I’d say check out the Uncharted series.

I totally forgot about GOW…. those games kick ass!
Nice one @Axemusica

little big planet <—if youre into it
assassin’s creed 1 & 2
modern warfare both
killzone 1&2
metal gears
any squaresoft rpg
god of war 123
harvest moon <dont hate

racing games are complete waste of time… i can get into a car in real life without being put into prison.

Axemusica's avatar

@Xilas whoa not all racing games are crap, just ones that aren’t realistic. Grand Turismo 5 is gonna be EPIC!

Xilas's avatar

@Axemusica .. sry bro.. just dont like them.. only one i ever liked is burnout, and that’s because it was very unrealistic

I do realistic driving everyday :) i dont want to play something i can live

Axemusica's avatar

@Xilas well if you did realistic driving like Grand Turismo you would be put in jail, lol. :P

although I do drive like that sometimes.

Xilas's avatar

I drive like that all the time, infact where i live.. some roads you can go as fast as your car will take you.. just dont hit a deer.

we can all agree on Modern warfare 2 fo sho

Axemusica's avatar

@Xilas damn I wish I lived somewhere like that, lol and now I miss my Z :’(

@Haroot I’m into action/adventure, hack ‘n’ slash, and shooters. Any suggestions for those types of things?

Haroot's avatar

@Joker94

Okay yeah. For Action/adventure try Uncharted for sure. And I’ll second Demon’s Souls. Hack ‘n’ slash titles you may want to check out ar God of War ports and Bayonetta. For shooters Modern Warfare 2, Dead Space and Borderlands are all great buys.

@Xilas – That Z wouldn’t cut it where I used to live. Lacks a little cornering and really can’t handle mud-bogging or ice that well.

My style is a little more WRC than NASCAR or NHRA though; straightways and pavement are for wimps!

But real speed isn’t about just the MPH; it’s about pushing both the car and driver to their limits. If your passenger hasn’t dropped a load in their pants, you did something wrong.

Personally, I like the Disgaea, Gran Turismo, and Metal Gear Solid series.
(Yes, I have a little range)

Axemusica's avatar

@jerv “If your passenger hasn’t dropped a load in their pants, you did something wrong.” agreed, but I had my Z’s suspension hooked up, one of the first things I did. I can tell you mine cornered very well, but still wouldn’t be able to handle dirt or ice to well. I also am not a big fan of straight aways, although asphalt is a dear friend to the right set of tires.

also I would so love an STi i’ve been dying to have one since they were released in the US.

@Axemusica – Exactly my point. How do you think my little 72HP Corolla could out-do Mustangs and Camaros in certain places at certain times?
Part of it had to do with the fact that many cared more about under the hood than inside the wheel well, so I could always nail them in the twisties by maintaining speed. I mean would you rather do 100 on the straights and 40 in the corners or 65 all over? The correct answer is, “It depends on how many corners there are.”
Sometimes weight (or my lack thereof) was more of a key. They sink in while I skim the surface.
And occasionally (especially in the winter) my lack of power was actually an asset. Which accelerates quicker; 300 HP of hole-digging wheelspin or 70HP worth of gecko-like grip?

That said, if there was grip on a straight, I got my ass handed to me. Choose your battles carefully ;)

Axemusica's avatar

@jerv haha, Yea I drive a Golf now. It definately has major body roll issues, but handles fantastic in the snow. I couldn’t agree more with “it depends on how many corners” but maybe we should leave this to video gaming, haha.

get two driving enthusiasts together, whooo it’s gonna be a trip, haha.

jerv's avatar

@Axemusica – My 2nd car was an ‘89 Golf. Sure, it rolled a bit but it had enough torque and gearing to take off in 3rd gear on a hill. I could NOT use 1st if there was snow or rain.
That thing was a beast though. Weighed nothing at all either :D
