Any home remedies to cure cystic acne?

Asked by minolta (328points) December 28th, 2009

I’ve developed a few cystic acne spots and have been using nelsons natural acne gel, cetaphil face moisturizer and a few vitamins along with plenty of water every day yet the lumps behind my skin are still there after a week. I’m wondering if you have any alternative cures for this type of cystic acne.

Thanks!

I know it might be easier to use a home remedy but it is important to seek medical advice. Many times you can develop an infection. Cystic Acne is different than regular acne.

Someone yesterday was just telling me that a good cure for all types of acne is a colon cleanse. You can get that from a vitamin store. I did a little (very little) research after she said that to see if she was bonkers or had some basis of truth and it seemed that many people support this idea.

I have had acne since I was a teenager.. I’m 40 now. I have spend hundrends of dollars and tryed EVER product. Now I use tea tree oil and THIS IS THE KEY… 100% Natural HIMALAYAN CRYSTAL SALT BAR.. you can purchase on ebay for under $10. HOW can you go wrong for that price.. at least its worth a try. I use it several times a day.. and it feels like it but it does not dry my face out AT ALL. Google it.. I’m not the only one that says it WORKS.. it is not a cure but it keeps my zits under control… REALLY.

Hello.
I just discovered this treatment by doing research on the Zeno acne treatment device. It uses heat to spot treat acne blemishes. The small “hot spot” device costs 40$ and the regular Zeno costs about 200.

I thought of something at home that I could do for virtually free, that would accomplish the same results, so this is what I did. I took a coffee mug and filled it with boiling water, I put a spoon in it and swirled it around a few times. Then I took the spoon out and let it cool for about ten seconds, and applied it to an acne blemish that was on my chin.

The skin’s own pain receptors are the guide for how hot the spoon should be on the acne blemish. Do this for several minutes on each blemish about twice a day. The heat will kill the acne bacteria causing the blemish to heal much faster.

This method also works on mosquito and flea bites. The heat causes histamine to be produced locally in the area of the bite which stops the itching.

All the best to you.
