What's the name of this 1970's animated short?

Asked by blippio (398points) February 27th, 2008 from iPhone

Ok. I believe I saw this on sesame street…
It depicts a squiggled line mess (jazzy beatnick type with no discipline) and a straight line (who at first can’t move but through focus, discipline, and hard work gains great articulation and artistry in his movement to win over the female character, played by a red ball) I think it’s voiced over by a British chap…

I love this short, and if you do too might I suggest that it’s because of the genius of Chuck Jones: the film’s director. He’s the man behind Buggs’ “What’s Opera, Doc?” and “The Grinch That Stole Christmas” as well as the end (and best) of the “Tom and Jerry” series, and my personal favorite “Riki-Tiki-Tavi.” Check it out.

I’m sure everyone agrees. Chuck Jones is one of the greats.
