General Question

I am so nervous before the discus throwing games! Can somebody please help me get over this?

It affects my throws. I feel so nervous that i can’t trow the way I know! In training I throw 56 metres but in games usually at 50. I have to get over it immediately! Please help !!!

Center yourself as you prepare, consider only your breathing, and relax your body, let the crowd melt away. Focus purely on your form feel the muscles and tendons, your grip and stance along with each moment as you would in practice. Competition is no different that your training, easier even because you need only perform once. You know what you are capable of, remind your brain to relax and allow your body to do it’s been trained for.

Picture yourself successfully hurling the discus farther than you ever have before. picture the crowd and the excitement and you making the greatest hurl ever.

Take deep breaths and think about relaxing places.
