I have a Canon Hg20 camcorder. Does anyone know how to get it off of photo mode?

Asked by AshlynM (10684points) January 18th, 2010

When I turn on the camcorder and put it to camera mode, it gives me a message saying, “the camcorder is set to photo mode.” It won’t allow me to take any pictures and I was able to do so before.

I have misplaced the manual. And I’ve looked a little online, but nothing really stands out.

If anyone has the same camcorder or knows how to do this, any help would be appreciated. Thanks!!

Is the dial near the eye-piece, right of the battery pack, set to still camera mode rather than the recorder? The top red icon is for stills and the second red icon is for film. The blue ones are for the corresponding “playback” modes. The white dot indicates which mode is active.
