Do guys like when girls wear sweat pants/casual wear or do they prefer a girl always looking her best and all done up?

Asked by missjena (918points) January 21st, 2010

I was just wondering how men felt about this topic.

It all depends on the situation. Casual wear for casual affair… dress to impress when impressions matter.

jrpowell's avatar

Sweat pants mean that you simply gave up on life. Casual with no make-up is best. I like the just crawled out of bed look.

I love it when we can go from the bed to Burger King in 2 minutes.

lilikoi's avatar

I think it depends on the guy.

JONESGH's avatar

I honestly think most girls look better not all done up. My perfect girl=jeans and a t-shirt

when ur hanging out in their apartment going over at 9 at night watching a movie. Wife beater and victoria secret sweatr pants? Is a no no?

timtrueman's avatar

No makeup, please. Except for special occasions where I’ll pretend it looks good (girls wear makeup for other girls, right?). I second the sweats means you’ve given up on life thing (I won’t wear them either, don’t worry).

i prefer a girl to be dressed nicely, but not over-done. i don’t really care for too much makeup on a girl, but i like it when they dress well.

having “juicy” written all over your ass is kinda tacky.

missjena's avatar

i have makeup on

lilikoi's avatar

@timtrueman There is a time and place for sweats and that is cleaning the house or working out at the gym or partaking in some other physically strenuous activity that involves dirt and a mountain. My ass looks good in sweats. So there.

writemyselfaletter's avatar

Depends on the girl. Some girls look like death warmed over with no makeup. Regardless, I prefer fixed up or naked, or nearly naked. In the morning without makeup is good if she has great skin.

missjena's avatar

Why is it alright then for guys to wear sweat pants?

missjena's avatar

This is just to hangout in the house people not to go out btw

jeffgoldblumsprivatefacilities's avatar

I prefer casual, I don’t like a girl who is high maintenance. Sweat pants are fine, so long as they don’t leave the house.

I guess it depends on the guy and also on the girl. I personally like when a girl looks good wearing casual clothes because it tells me that they are comfortable with themselves and are laid back. Dress up according to who you are some people may not like it, most of them probably will or wont mind. But if your appearance is to your satisfaction It will attract people/company to your satisfaction.

writemyselfaletter's avatar

@missjena it is not alright for guys to wear sweatpants, unless they are in the gym. Guys should dress themselves appropriately too…...and shave, unless they have a beard. And Im a guy.

le_inferno's avatar

From what I understand, guys don’t really care. If they think a girl is hot, they think she’s hot regardless if she’s in sweats or wearing something nice. Girls dress up nice to impress other girls.

It simply depends on where you are and who you’re with as well as what type of person you are I.e. classless or classy.

I like a girl who cares about her appearance but as to her apparel she can wear whatever. I like jeans with a t shirt or a form fitting sweater dress. I like the heels if it’s practical. If we’re going to the park something casual but it’s more about the way it’s put together.

I’m not too crazy when a woman tries to change my wardrobe but I tolerate it. Girls seem to love to give guys makeovers. I generally try to pay attention to my appearance though. I’m not a fan of the sweats and junky shorts in public for either sex. Except when it’s boiling hot and then it’s just whatever is comfortable.

I’m a highschool student, I wear sweats and boyshirts everyday and I never wear makeup and I have boys talking to me. I asked them if it bothered them how I never dress nice. They said they would like me to dress better but they can’t control how I dress. But what do I care? I’m in highschool! I’m living my effing life!

By the way sorry if its not a ideal answer to ya question, I was on a roll..

ShiningToast's avatar

At home, or a quick errand early in the morning or at night, sweatshirt and sweat pants are fine.

Other than that, regular clothes are cool, unless I’m paying for an expensive dinner :).

daemonelson's avatar

I don’t particularly mind. I wouldn’t really like the ‘all done-up’ all of the time, but on occasion, it’s good. I wear jeans and a shirt most of the time, I don’t really expect more than that.

@le_inferno

I was pretty much going to say that. An attractive girl can look just as good in boxers and a hoodie as she does in a sexy dress. At least, that’s how I see it.

chyna's avatar

I only wear sweats as pajama’s and only in my home watching tv or going to bed. My usual attire after work is jeans and a t-shirt.

Steve_A's avatar

Well if I had meet a girl all done up and dressed to impress make-up,hair, the whole sha-bang.

I might be a little disappointed later is all :D lol….

so if I think you look damn good with casual or sweat pants, I can’t wait till later :)))

LethalCupcake's avatar

I don’t have a mans point of view obviously – But I know I more comfortable being all dressed up with my hair and nails done…..

loser's avatar

I think women in sweats and a t-shirt are sexy!

Naked_Homer's avatar

I love no make up on a girl. And I agree with @loser Seats and a t are sexy. I LOVE the way a girls butt looks in sweat pants!!!!! It almost boarders on fetish for me

trumi's avatar

At home, PJ pants + t-shirt + no makeup. Out and about, it’s really up to you, but I’m always a fan of tight jeans.

DrBill's avatar

I bless them the way God dressed them.

I honestly love when my girlfriend gets up in the morning in her pajamas. I think she is absolutely gorgeous. She apologizes when I come over and she just woke up but I think she is absolutely hot el-natural

jeanna_'s avatar

I don’t wear actual sweats, but I do have yoga pants. Of course I leave the house in them…hello gym. I also wear them to the grocery store, the bank…..anywhere I feel ok with being comfy and casual. You either love me or you love what I wear; I prefer you to love me. I don’t wear a lot of makeup and I don’t wear it every day. Mostly concealer for the awful dark circles under my eyes I’ve had since birth. I generally look the same when I wake up as I do when I go to bed; I’m lucky to have hair that either looks the same as it did when I went to sleep or better, with waves.

SeventhSense's avatar

@DrBill
Happy Birthday ladies.

le_inferno's avatar

@jeanna_
Haha oh man if only I could say the same about my hair…. complete shitshow. Having curly hair sucks.

jeanna_'s avatar

@le_inferno I used to hate the curls. I was born with a head full of curls, then it got straight and finally it’s become wavy again. I swear it only looks awesome when it’s wet (from a shower and definitely not from rain. ugh hello poofball).

The Wife and I pretty much live in jeans, t shirts and button down long sleeve shirts. I am a medium shirt and a 30 waist and she is a small but wears my shirts and can get away wearing my jeans with her 28 waist. This means our closet is all together and her bra’s live in a drawer because she has the curves to fill them!

chelle21689's avatar

I think most guys are lying when they say they love girls all natural, sweat pants, hair tied, no makeup! Such bull! Whenever I dress down I don’t get noticed that much, when I dress up a little I get attention. If I’m next to my pretty sister all dressed up and me not as much…she gets all the attention. VICE VERSA!

SeventhSense's avatar

@chelle21689
Well you’re cute regardless.
when your sister’s not around of course.. :P

Im a guy and personally i love it when girls where just gray sweatpants and a tank top/ wifebeater. There was this girl at my school who i didnt really notice until we all went on this fieldtrip were we were supposed to dress in stuff we wouldnt mind getting dirty. She wore like exactly what i described, and she had her in a ponytail. Thats when i knew that i liked her. Thats when i think a girl looks her cutest/best/hottest

SmileBeautiful's avatar

its funny because u girlss are saying that makeup is used to impress other girls but i think thats wrong. i wear make-up because I feel good when i put it on. I mean needless to say I don’t really look that different without it on, but its just one of those things that I have to do when i wake-up. Like a guy has to jack off when he wakes up, lol
I think make-up increases the look of my great features, that’s why i wear it,
if a guy says im beautiful without it, then so be it, i’ll do it. But i usually get complimented a lot more of how i try to look nice for someone. Then they end up feeling impressed.
