What's your idea of a perfect weekend?

Asked by silverfly (4055points) March 14th, 2010

I just had an amazing weekend. It included an awesome Saturday breakfast, drinks and pool with friends, walking in the park, getting dirty in the backyard pulling weeds, and an amazing dinner (Mahi Mahi with mango sauce). If there ever was a perfect weekend, this one comes close.

What’s your perfect weekend look like?

A trip to the woods where I would have a picnic with myself and nature as company. Maybe some bouldering or tree climbing.

The next day, I’d go shooting with some friends, probably.

That sounds like a decent weekend to me.

Alone with a radio, type writer, and a bottle of whiskey.

No work.
Weather cool enough for sweaters, fireplace, hot food and snuggling naked in bed.

@Neizvestnaya Nakedness is always nice.

A small group of friends rent a cottage or two on a lake, carry in groceries and stay the weekend. Fires, swimming, drinking, cooking.

mine would be walking on the beach with my boyfriend and then sitting by a nice bonfire getting high and drinking with all of our friends. Then later, everyone comes back to his house on ocean drive and just chills, while me and him go upstairs and you know ;D In the morning, everyone packs up and we go play some paintball. Then maybe go sailing and fishing with just him<3

A walk in a beautiful natural spot. Back to the room in the Inn. Make love. Sit in hot tub. Go out to dinner at fabulous restaurant. Watch stars for a while taking walk. Back to hot tub under the stars. Relax together. Make love—starting in the tub and then working our way to the bed, which is wonderfully comfortable and puffy. Fall asleep to the flickering flames in the fireplace. Make half asleep love sometime in the middle of the night. Wake, up late. Make love. Have an incredible brunch. Take a walk in nature. Be unable to keep hands off each other and sneak one in the woods, having, fortuitously brought a blanket and some other things that make making love au naturel as comfortable as it can be.

Get back to car and drive home, stopping on the way to make up for lost time in the back of the car.

Get home, and find that the kids have cleaned the entire house, done their homework, practiced and have a nice warm meal waiting for us.

Ah, the fantasy….

I want to be well-slept, I want to have fun with the kids outside in good weather, I want lots of ice cream and sex.

A weekend at a cabin on a northwoods lake that includes campfires, boating, fishing, hiking and good beer.

I change my answer, I want what @wundayatta says complete with the kid army to clean up the house and have it in order upon our return.

Camping with sun and stars and campfires. Lots of laughing and good food.

It could be anywhere as long as there is lot of shared loving and laughing involved.
And maybe some liquor and/or other treats
See ya…..Gary/wtf

I love to rent a house for myself on the oregon coast. One that’s near the beach. Have some alone time and just wander around and get lost for a few days. Make my own dinners, veg out, watch the stars where there’s few lights. I’m currently saving up for it. :)

@py_sue Sounds great. I got through a couple of bad years in my life daydreaming about a little gray house near the dunes of Oregon.

Just me & the woman I love, miles from anyone, no mobile phones, no distractions just with plenty of time on our hands.
