Opening 3ds max 2010 files in 2009?

im having a problem opening files at home. i have 3ds max 2009 at home and i use 3ds max 2010 at school. and as of yet i cant open any files i work on at school on my home comp. any idea why?

You may be using a 32bit max 2009 at home while the max 2010 at school is 64bit.

Actually that is quite true. any idea on fixes? i am unable to upgrade to 64 so thats kinda out of the question

you may be able to save the school file in a 32bit mode. I just don’t know if that matters to you, you’re basically downgrading the quality of your file.

hmm… im not sure, im fairly new to the program so ill have to do a bit of exploring. thanks
