Care to share your experiences on the practice of The Law of Attraction?

Asked by frolix (167points) April 28th, 2010

I googled a bit on the practice of Law of Attraction yesterday. I still wasn’t sure though whether I got them right. While driving the car on my way home, I spelled out several things that I badly wanted to happen (positive affirmation?). Later last night it did happen though, I was very happy. Coincidence, no?

I think it works and is a part of the natural universe, but some subjects are off-limits to certain individuals. Maybe due to some subconscious resistance in their psyche, maybe karma, maybe engrams, maybe some other reason.

Nothing so far. If i experience anything, will share. But won’t it be great, that we can influence just by our thoughts?

“Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.”—- I’m not a Christian but may be this statement is true, after all.

The Law of Attraction is a deeply spiritual practice (I believe anyway) that involves A LOT of self love and belief. You may find initially that the novelty of it will bring the coincidences into your life. It is meant to be a practice, one that will inevitably open you up to healing yourself as well.

Meaning, if you were brought up believing you have to work REALLY hard for everything you get, it will take some work to undo that belief and attract abundance effortlessly… and so forth…

It didn’t work like that for me. I found that as I let lo of stress and negativity, by changing my thoughts, words from what IS into what I would rather have, then I changed my inner tension/magnitude and that was reflected in my outer world. It isn’t about saying, Ooh, I want a boat. and then expecting a boat in your driveway when you get home that day.

It’s very important to feel good, and not focus your thoughts on what you don’t want in your life, such as worries, guilts, arguments, anger etc. You want to let go of stressful situations that drain your energy.
To relax, as if you’re in a boat floating/flowing downstream with the currant, not paddling upstream against the current.
If this isn’t done, the chances of attracting what you say you want won’t be effective.

I feel it’s important to mention that “Contrast” is important to identify and work with in this topic.

Anais Nin said it well, “We don’t see the world as it is, we see the world as we are.”
Wayne Dyer, “You’ll see it when you believe it and what you think about expands.”
Ester Hicks is a really great teacher on this topic. She has hundreds of You Tube lectures and teaches “The Law of Attraction” which I own and give my two thumbs up.
