this is my friend's mom's recipe:

dough: 1/2 cup = 1 stick butter or margarine at room temperature 1 c sugar 1 egg 2 cups flour 2 tsp baking powder 2 Tbsp orange juice 1 tsp vanilla or almond extract baking: cream butter with sugar add egg and stir mix separately flour and baking powder add half flour mixture to sugar-egg mix plus orange juice and vanilla and mush together add rest of flour mix and repeat. form two balls of dough and chill several hours or overnight (good up to a week) my mother says she gets 12 to a cookie sheet ... but her recipe was also supposed to make twice what ours made, so whatever. also an option: sprinkle tops with cinnamon-sugar mix bake at 350 fahrenheit for fifteen minutes or until delicately brown at corners.
