What are some cool things to do over summer break?

Get a summer job – you will be out of the house, learning new skills AND making some money at the same time.

Look ahead at what’s coming in school for the next year, and get started preparing for it.

Consider volunteering for some worthy cause. Maybe get a group of kids together to go down and work on the oil spill clean-up.

13 is probably too young to get a proper job. Maybe you could do chores for your parents or other people in your neighborhood, and make some money that way?

Learn an art like guitar, or draw or paint. Volunteer in your town for community projects or activities. Ride your bike like everywhere you can think of and then make a goal to by the end of summer to ride to some ridiculously far away spot. Make it an adventure.
