What would you invest into society to make peace closer to obtain?

Asked by deadleaf (212points) June 5th, 2010

The idea isn’t necessarily to be monetary, so please read each post so that it doesn’t repeat. Leave out religion, politics, influential negativity, and derogation from the topic. Thank you!

Education designed to break down tribalism, xenophobia and insularity.

Like this:
…For four days this mixture of Muslim and Christian children from Ramallah, Jenin, Bethlehem, East Jerusalem, Tulkarem and Jericho, are participating in the “Children Create Peace” summer camp, alongside 115 Jewish Israeli children…

@jaytkay is right. The secret is in changing the attitudes of children. I would make peace an important part of education. Also teach in the schools non-violent conflict resolution.

But @marinelife, that would require the adults to learn those things
first.

Great answers! It always comes down to the source (Us). The question now is, how would you incorporate this? Wouldn’t there be conflict within our townships for meddling? It’s a complicated thing, peace is, and ironically, as well as unfortunately, the things we want rely solely on a democratic dictatorship. (Yes, democracy is a mass dictatorship, but that’s a different topic.) The majority ALWAYS rules, except in our case, the government is the monetary majority and money talks more than we do nowadays.

protest prohibition (smoking marijuana, having sex., etc.) that makes criminals out of reasonable sane persons. get active in organizing people and educating them about how corporations make laws by paying money to congress through campaign donations, and controlling our countries, starting wars and propping up dictators to gain control of developing countries. get money supply into the hands of the people not international banking cartels. religion is the great divider.
