Why would someone live in Tucson, AZ

Asked by okc405 (255points) March 21st, 2008

My job has me in Tucson for a while and coming from where I do… Why would anybody want to live here? There is no water, no grass, microscopic party scene, the WORST city layout/interstate design i’ve ever seen and i’ve traveled quite a bit, one of the highest crime rates in the country for a city of its size and it has a third world country at its front porch. What is the attre

Nice climate! Not as hot as Phoenix and you can have year round outdoor activities.
I have visited there and found it to be quite nice!

Maybe you’re just not a desert southwest kind of guy(?). I have the same issues with Albuquerque, although it probably beats Tucson by a hair.

@trainerboy PHX is worth the extra degrees, im from a more humid climate and the dry heat to me is all the same. I have a ball everytime i’m in PHX and wish everybody i worked there.
@kevbo I’ve been to albequerque and i feel the same way, better looking city and the mix of people is “better”

@Riser, you must be on the 5 because it’s at a crawl. As for, who would want to live in Tucson? Ask the cops. The pay must be GREAT! Approximately 2/3’s of the PD wear Rolex’s!

trainerboy's avatar

Yes, sccrowell, but are they the fake kind you get in Mexico for $20?

sccrowell's avatar

No Trainerboy, I beg to differ! I know this because I sold the watches to them. Or at least the majority of them. As a matter of fact, I do/did quite well there during the Gem show!

Oh, sorry TB, I miss read your question!

sccrowell,
I was asking you, I wasn’t making a statement.

trainerboy's avatar

sccrowell,
I missed your rebuttal of your comment.

I got stationed here. I can’t stand it! I’m a Florida boy, going on 6 years in tucson. That’s why I’m taking the weekend in Cali!

sccrowell's avatar

@Trainerboy, I saw that, hence my apology… I was quick to jump and for that I am sorry. I hope you’ll forgive me and my trigger fingers.

trainerboy's avatar

Sccrowell, I have done it before, hence, my own rebuttal to your statement. Nothing to apologize for. It wasn’t like you called me a%##(@ or something like that!!!

Ppl live in Tucson for retirement and to go to the university of Arizona. That’s about it! LOL.

@Trainerboy,
If it’s a rebuttal you want alright here goes… Fakes they are not. My conscience would never allow me to sell fakes. They are absolutely real! 100%! Until a couple of years ago, I was in the wholesale business and highend watches were what I sold! Rolex, Cartier, Patek’s, etc… I sold a few to the guys in law enforcement by the end of the first show, my name was like a household item. One night I was pulled over because I tried to make it through a yellow light (but didn’t) and since my plates were out of state, they pulled me over. I remember holding my breath when the Off. walked up to my car. And then started laughing when he said, don’t I know you? I reminded him I sold him the Submariner he wore on his wrist! Boy, was I lucky that night! Over the years I have sold so many I have lost count. Although not contacts. Not much of a rebuttal, but it is the truth and will have to do, eh? <grin>

sccrowell,
Somewhere I am missing something. I didn’t want a rebuttal. I just acknowledged that I was a little quick on the draw at your first repsonse before seeing your second one that wasacknowledging you misread my comment.
Where am I missing something? I got your acknolwedgement and said no apology necesarry as I have done the same thing as well.
