you will need an oven, ceiling lamps, a refrigerator, sometimes you even have to buy your own kitchen, sink included, then you will need curtains, lockers, a bed, chairs, tables, sometimes you need to buy new carpets as well, then you will need cleaning stuff, like brooms and stuff. You know, the basics.

A toilet plunger. No apartment is complete without one.

A can opener.
A lighter.

A nail cutter.
A big screen tv.
That’s all.

A microwave oven, toaster, cleaning supplies, mop, broom, toilet scruber, plunger, trash cans for kitchen and bathroom, light bulbs, lamps, a fan, silverware, glasses, coffee cups, dishes, a coffee maker or tea kettle, can opener, sponges and dish towels, bathroom towels, curtains if you do not have them supplied, or blinds, a telephone, and the basic furniture, bed, dresser, table, chairs, couch, TV, stereo, throw rugs, candles for power outtages, flashlight, bug spray, .....that should get you started. lol

A wall clock, a bath mat – inside if you don’t wanna slip and die, outside if you don’t wanna slip and die or get the floor all wet, a silverware holder, a mat to wipe your feet on before you go inside, possibly a shower curtain, a garbage can for the bathroom.

Spare batteries (AAA or AA or whatever your devices require)

A towel is an absolute must. Most other stuff is optional. You can get a lot done with a towel.

A hammer. Not sure what devices @jaytkay is referring to that needs batteries. :-)

@MrGV Your welcome. Best of luck. Oh, and as suggested, do get that plunger. It will come in handy at 2 am when you clog the toilet and now have to call for maintance to unclog it. LOL

Flea defogger

Oven spray if it doesn’t have a self cleaning kind.

Lime Away spray

Shelf/Drawer liner paper

Picture hanging kit that has plastic expanding sleeves for nails to be screwed securely (more) into drywall.

Electric/Battery driven drill that has additional bits to become a screwdriver.

Big open mouth jar to put kitchen utensils in if you have a shortage of good drawers.

Big open mouth jar to put on bathroom counter to hold bars of soap and drape a hand towel from if you have little cabinet/drawer space or no hand towel bar/ring.

Batteries for smoke detectors.

Air Filters for a/c unit so you can change them once a month.

Bulk babywipes. They’re great for quick wiping down of toilet seat, lid & tank, counters and around baseboards and tight spaces between sweeping and mopping. I also use them with cream to wipe off makeup, wipe down my shoes & handbags and wipe window sills.
