Should I use the Zune Marketplace that the Zune HD comes with?

Asked by madmax303 (262points) September 13th, 2010

I want to get the zune hd and i know it comes with the zune marketplace but i dont really get it. Do you have to pay monthly and pay for each song? Would i be better off using something else to get music, and if so, what should it be?

Better question:

Should you get a Zune?

I agree with the above poster, I detest the Zune marketplace.

I have a zune and have been using the marketplace for at least two years, as long as you pay for a subscription you can download to your PLAYER, unlimited downloads, but as soon as you drop your subscription you are no longer able to listen to any of the music from zune. I have over 20,000 songs on my zune and twice after upgrading software I have had to reload ALL of my music. Sometimes I really think it is more trouble than its worth.

A Zune can play regular old MP3 files.

If you don’t want to use the Marketplace, you can download legal, legit MP3 music files from a number of places, including:
mp3.amazon.com
eMusic.com
mp3.com
– many of the artists own sites

And, of course, you can rip music off any CDs in your possession as well.
