Ever had a moment where you thought you saw someone there, but no one else noticed it?

Asked by GialloBubble (227points) July 25th, 2011

I was about two or four and I swore to my mom that I had a friend. I would explain her everything about that friend, and my mom kept saying she never saw it. Has any one had this kind of experience?

A friend in the room with you that no one could see, or remembering a friend from the past that no one else could remember?

GialloBubble's avatar

A friend in the room that others didn’t see. I did swore to my mom that she did see it, but she always said she didn’t.

I would suggest speaking with your doctor about this incident. Is this the first time something like this has happened to you?

GialloBubble's avatar

Nope this isn’t the first time it happen to me, it happens to me once and while. It doesn’t worry me much, just a thought and wonder if anyone else had the same experience.

On and off every now and then. For me, it’s a sort of hallucination. It’s consistently a girl in blue with long dark hair. She’ll always pop up in my peripheral and when I turn my head, she’s not there anymore. Only happens in wide open areas.

Paranormal?

GialloBubble's avatar

@DominicX That is what I was thinking, but I don’t want sound like I’m crazy.

Only for a moment.

I’m assuming you are clairvoyant until I hear a better theory. Please keep notes and let me know what all you see.

GialloBubble's avatar

@Zaku I admit, I have seen more than just my friend. Sometimes I see someone in a crowd and then I don’t see them again. I don’t want to sound creepy or anything, it doesn’t bother me that bad. I just often wonder about it.

Hm how often do you socialize with people you consider friends?

GialloBubble's avatar

@rock4ever I’m always with people, and I live with my boyfriend so I’m always around someone.

ANef_is_Enuf's avatar

I want to know why no one else is concerned about the potential psychological or neurological possibilities before jumping to the conclusions of clairvoyance or ghosts.

@ANef_is_Enuf I know right…

Can you describe this person or people? If it’s multiple people would you mind telling me any similarities they share? If you want you can talk to me through pm.

It is not uncommon for very young children to have imaginary friends. Most moms know this and go along with it. Kids grow out of it eventually. Look at Calvin and Hobbes cartoons. He’s a typical example except his friend is a stuffed animal tiger. But the imaginary friend doesn’t have to be a toy or anything except what the child’s imagination wants it to be. It’s very real to the child.
Talk to your mother about it. Parents are not able to see imaginary friends.

Oh jeez, I missed the part about the OP being 2 or 4.

GialloBubble's avatar

@Sunny2 I did fiirst think it was my imaginary friend, but I felt like he was too real. It was one of my thoughts, but my mom said she doesn’t remember me talking to one. I should ask her again.

@GialloBubble It’s amazing what you can find out about about your childhood self from your mom. Sometimes, what you remember, is given a whole other point of view from someone who was also there.
