Have you tried any new or adventurous recipes lately?

Today I tried steel cut oatmeal spiced with a jalapeño pepper and a dried Anaheim pepper; surprisingly the flavors went together really well. This is how I prepared it:

Bring ½ cup of oatmeal and 2 cups of water to a simmer for 20 minutes. Around the 20 minute mark, add:

1 chopped dried Anaheim pepper
Two spoonfuls of almond butter
1 mashed banana
Two tablespoons of honey
Handful of dried cherries
Pinch of coarse salt
Brown sugar to taste
Dusting of cinnamon
Few pinches of Hungarian Paprika

Total cooking should be around 25 minutes.

When it’s done, add ½ cup of unsweetened coconut milk, a few slices of a Granny Smith apple, and finally some diced jalapeño peppers.

Do you think you would like this? Anything you would change to the recipe?

We had toasted sesame bagels with cream cheese and slices of fresh apricot arranged in a star design for breakfast this morning. Is that a recipe? It was good.
Also made corned beef hash with pastrami, which is a bit spicier and very nice.

I recently made pineapple-jalapeno sorbet. So good.

@uberbatman Sounds really interesting. What’s the recipe? If I may ask.

@rockfan I don’t really use recipes, they’re more of a general guide for me that I alter and play with. Here is the recipe I started with though if you’re interested.
