Know personally? My BILs. I’ve known them for 20 years and haven’t been “allowed” to have a conversation with them beyond asking after each others SOs. It used to really bother me but now I just grab a book and read when they are around.

I don’t know any. My daughter’s idiot boyfriend is very insulting to women, but I don’t know that he dislikes them as much as simply has no respect for them.

There were quite a few misogynists studying in my department at university (undergraduate and graduate.) It was aggravating to listen to for six years.

My ex-boyfriend (brief relationship), a gay man in deep denial.

I truly believe that in-denial gay men are among the most dangerous creatures on this planet. They’re filled with self-loathing, because they role-play and can’t be at peace with their true selves. They’re homophobes, and sometimes gay-bashers, because they’re too threatened by the reality of homosexuality. And, they often hate women. They’re not attracted to the ladies, so they dislike and resent their heterosexual partners. Also, women are supposed to “cure” them of their proclivities, somehow magically, so the women get blamed when that doesn’t happen.

My ex married a woman. Interestingly, she’s physically unattractive and looks, walks, and talks like a man. Hmm…
