Meta Question

stanleybmanly's avatar

Am I wrong in my perception that the number of questions posted daily here has fallen drastically?

Asked by stanleybmanly (24153points) February 7th, 2018 from iPhone

lately we seem to be down to 2 or three per section, with meta persisting for days between questions. What gives?

I noticed this a few years ago. Same thing, just a couple questions per section. It gets busy, then it dies off. I don’t believe this is something new.

I have noticed that too. There were no questions in social yesterday and none today. That is a first in my experience.

There were problems with the “ask a question” functionality of the site.

That probably helped to keep the numbers low.

Nope, total dullsville.
I get discouraged when the mods attack me like my fourth grade english teacher about an improperly spaced comma, or they simply don’t like the way my question was worded, even when the punctuation, spelling, and spaced comma’s are ok they get all bent because they simply don’t like the way it’s worded.
Feels more like elementary school than a Q+A site.
I haven’t had any problems with the ask a question function, but the chat rooms have been on the blink for sometime now.

Oh and I just checked the chat rooms are still fucked up.
(not working)

I’ve been unable to post a question for the better part of a week. I can fill in the question field, but then it won’t move on to details.

Had to come back, and say it let me post a question just fine, but the chat rooms are still not working.

I can only post a question in https://i.fluther.com/

Kardamom's avatar

I haven’t been able to post any Q’s from my computer. I haven’t tried doing it from my phone. I shall try it and report back.

Kardamom's avatar

I just posted a Q from my phone, in Social, and that seems to have worked.

imrainmaker's avatar

@All – Please use phone for posting your Q’s as that has worked without any issues. No need to be so loyal to the desktop site..) If your phone doesn’t support it then probably time to upgrade your phone!!

Or use this link from desktop… https://i.fluther.com/

This is how I’ve been asking.

MrGrimm888's avatar

It did, for a bit. Lots couldn’t ask, as mentioned above.

I think a little bird came in and did some work yesterday. Chat room seems to be fixed – at least I got a notice that i was kicked out of it. And I got a Question for You today.

imrainmaker's avatar

^That’s great news!!!

SergeantQueen's avatar

I haven’t got any questions

janbb's avatar

@SergeantQueen Not everyone does all the time. It depends on what you’ve answered and what topics you have. And there haven’t been many new questions lately.

longgone's avatar

^ I think she means she has nothing to ask.

janbb's avatar

^^Perhaps.

SergeantQueen's avatar

Yes.^ He said what gives to the lack of questions and I said I haven’t got any questions to ask at the moment.

janbb's avatar

^^ Oh. Sorry I misunderstood.

Brian1946's avatar

For those who haven’t tried yet, one can post a question at the mobile site from a desktop computer.

filmfann's avatar

I have noticed a drop off on the questions.

RedDeerGuy1's avatar

My tablet now works for asking questions.

ARE_you_kidding_me's avatar

There are only like 10–20 users left.

notwonderwoman's avatar

@Areyoukiddingme I just looked at 4 questions from today/yesterday and counted 40 unique users. I think if I felt like looking into it more I’d probably find more users.

imrainmaker's avatar

I don’t know but less no of users are giving answers these days (don’t see some regulars also) and lesser are asking questions. People seem to have become busy with other things!!
