Which one do you prefer when you go to a restaurant? Booth or table?

I always ask for booth but I think we cannot do it anymore, LOL, the car seat of the baby girl won’t fit.

Booth if we are 4 or under people, table otherwise.

Oh, and booth if I’m alone. If I’m alone, I generally want more privacy, and the booth provides this.

A booth; I don’t like to have my back or my backside facing others. A booth feels more private and comfortable.

Booths are more comfy, yes. I like that cocoon-y feeling!

The booth provides a better slouching atmosphere, unless I’m eating alone, then I’d like to be at a table with a good view of the rest of the resturant.

If it is just the two of us, but the place is empty enough that we get that option: Booth!
If there are four or three of us: BOOTH!

So, basically, if we aren’t being a pain by taking a booth due to party size, I much prefer a booth. I like the added sense of privacy and security. Plus, they are more comfortable.

Booth. More intimate.

Surely, booth.

(Get it? Shirley Booth. Haha. I crack myself up.)

I’m the loner here who prefers a table. I hate booth seats that sink half way down to the floor. I’m short & it’s often hard to get back out of the damn things. I feel like I’m being swallowed up. Also many booth seats are too far away from the table. When I’m in a chair, I can scoot up close to the table & it’s just easier to get in & out of.

Booth.

Can I point out the idiocy of “Booth or table”? What you mean is “Booth or Chair”. You’re getting a table no matter what.

I don’t understand the fascination with booths, at my restaurant. We make fun of people constantly for it. I also hate people who think they should get to decide where they site, it sucks because they’re usually a reason the host is taking you to a certain table…because that server needs tables.
I never have a preference, unless it’s to keep my son from annoying other guests.

@MrItty: “idiocy” – testy much? I think we’re all pretty clear on what she meant.

Facade's avatar

If i’m with my babe, booth.

Facade's avatar

@MrItty No one says “booth or chair.” Not even the people that work at restaurants.

@MrItty Your technical sense of humor is showing up again. To those of us who know you, we understand. ;-)

I’m going with jbfletcher here, I’m a fan of the table myself. Used to be booth, but I don’t like to be squeezed in next to someone, I like the idea of sitting around a table where we can all look at each other – just like at the dinner table at home.

JellyB's avatar

Booth. The more private and quiet, the better.

SpatzieLover's avatar

Booths are more cozy and make me feel more like we have a private little space even in a seriously crowded restaurant.

MrItty's avatar

@bythebay, I did not call the OP idiotic. I called the phrase – which I myself use as well – idiotic. There is a large difference.

MacBean's avatar

Table. I’m too fat for booths.

kruger_d's avatar

Booth for one or two. Table for 3+ because I hate making someone get up so I can go to the salad bar, bathroom, whatever. Although if it’s a fifties diner I will always go for the booth. I was in one with a u-shaped booth that sat 8. That was fun.

I used to ask for a booth but- yup, me too since our baby is only 6 months we like to ask for tables now

Booths are so hit and miss for me. I’m not tall, I’m petite – some booths just don’t work for me. I either sit to low, because the seats are low or the table is too far apart from the seat.

Tables can be annoying, if someone is sitting right behind you. I don’t know why some people can’t figure out how to sit in the chair without knocking another patron in the back. I also love when someone doesn’t pull their chair closer to the table. I’m not talking about someone that needs the space, just those that don’t pull closer to the table.

I guess I’m picky! For the comfort of my family – booth. If it’s just my husband and I, table.
