What do you dislike about your appearance? And do you plan on making any changes to it?

Asked by Ame_Evil (3051points) August 6th, 2009

Almost everyone has a problem with their appearance – it’s a natural behaviour to feel this way. What is it that you don’t like about your appearance, and why?

Also, do you spend money on products to improve/hide parts of you which you dislike, or are you planning to spend money on any cosmetic surgery in the future?

I already fixed what I didn’t like, and if I need to fix it again in the future I will!

I wish my freckles would all merge into a golden glow, but alas that one is not fixable.

I like my appearance for the most part. I’m 17 and still don’t have to shave and have had little acne. I feel lucky, no need to spend money on makeup or anything. The only thing I don’t like sometimes is that my nose is kind of big. I get it from my dad. It’s not that big of a deal and I would never do anything to change it; it’s just who I am. I don’t mind the freckles under my eyes and across my nose and I don’t have a problem with anything below the neck. :)

Too much to name, but if someone really wanted to know, I’d say. Yes, I’d get more surgery or procedures done.

efritz's avatar

I’m pretty unhappy with my appearance, but I wouldn’t change it even if I could, on principle.

tinyfaery's avatar

I’m hot, even with the freckles. ;)

There are things I don’t like, but I’d never do anything other than diet and exercise. If I really hate it, I just tattoo it, then, I love it.

I got old. I also got thin, having been very, very fat, and now my skin looks like a deflated balloon. Old, well, that happens, but if I were rich I’d fix the other thing.

I am thrilled to be here and delighted at how I look…I feel that way every morning when I wake up. When I smile and act cheerful, people tell me that #1) I have lost weight, #2) I have a wonderful new haircut or #3) I look terrific.

Old is fun and relaxing.

aprilsimnel's avatar

I’ve been exercising and making changes in the way I eat. It’s all good.

I could stand to be a tad less “fluffy”! :-)

sjmc1989's avatar

I wish I was a little more in shape but that can be fixed easily. Other than that I LOVE ME!!

dannyc's avatar

I dislike I am getting quite grey, but am proud of the life experiences that are engrained on each hair, or wrinkles on my skin that show. I exercise frequently, and do my very best, but am too damn busy to worry about it. That is my secret to looking better.

samanthabarnum's avatar

There are things that I dislike, yes, but there are many more things I like. I worked very hard at my self-esteem, and after working in the fashion industry, it’s all fake anyway. No one looks like we think we all should look, not one person is perfect. Learn to accept your flaws, not change them, and love yourself for them.

evelyns_pet_zebra's avatar

I have a weak chin. Fix it? Naw, no point. No physical flaw is worth surgery, been there, done that. I had the boney ridges in my lower jaw removed, and for no apparent reason it seems, since I don’t wear my lower dentures anyway.

kenmc's avatar

I dislike the majority of who I am as a person…

But appearance-wise, I am just like quite a few of the above answers. I’d like to be thinner, but I’m not because of environment/laziness.

Sarcasm's avatar

My boobies aren’t big enough!

Zendo's avatar

I love me and don’t intend to do anything extra. Maybe just a little make-up, eh?

evelyns_pet_zebra's avatar

:::plays with @Sarcasm‘s boobies::: They are big enough for me! =)

aprilsimnel's avatar

@Sarcasm – Would you be happy with boobies this big?

drdoombot's avatar

I’d add a just a little bit more hair to the top of my head and get rid of the spare tire around my belly.

I exercise three times a week for the latter and patiently wait for hair transplant cloning to become a reality for the former.

Sarcasm's avatar

@aprilsimnel Yes that is a wonderful pair of boobies, I wish I was blessed enough to have such perfect ones.

I’ve always had unattractive feet from years of running and then dancing. It’s to where I’m very self conscious if I wear sandals that expose my toes which still have scars and callouses and are crooked. Weird thing is… some people like them so I’ll be damned. The changes I’ve made are mostly maintenance- pedicures, nightly slatherings of balm to keep them smooth, soft and no callouses on the bottoms.

After three kids and then loosing 80 lbs I had a lot of extra skin. You bet I got a tummy tuck and a boob lift. My daughters call it a “mommy makover,”

Facade's avatar

@Judi that’s what the doctors call it too :P

MissAusten's avatar

@Marina I, too, would like to merge my freckles into one even tan! I’m so jealous of my kids, who tan even with SPF 30!

I really need to get in shape. Before I had kids, I was slim without ever having to work for it or watch what I ate. Last week I started going to a personal trainer and watching what I eat, and I’ve already lost 4 pounds. Still have a ways to go, of course, but I am already fantasizing about buying new clothes!

dynamicduo's avatar

I don’t have a problem with my appearance. I am comfortable and happy with the shape I have now. I wouldn’t change anything. Well, I would change one thing and that’s laser hair removal in certain areas, but that’s really the cherry on the cake.

OpryLeigh's avatar

I dislike the fact that I am so short (5’0) and would love to have beautiful long legs. Not much I can do about it though so I don’t let it worry me too much!

gailcalled's avatar

@Leanne1986: I have a friend who says, “Just so they reach the ground.”

And let me tell you about long legs and coach seats on airplanes, back seats of new cars, and movie theater seats. I have dents in my throat where my knees have dug in.

I no longer fly because I have to be removed from the plane’s seat with the jaws of life.

OpryLeigh's avatar

@gailcalled How tall are you? If you don’t mind me asking. My ideal height would be 5’6.

gailcalled's avatar

A whisker under 5’ 7” but high-waisted so legs are longer than those of other women of that height. My sis is 5’ 9” and has a difficult time finding pants that aren’t high-water ones.

deni's avatar

i would like to grow a few inches. i’m 5’3” almost but i have pretty short legs and i look kind of stocky i think.

bea2345's avatar

I went today to apply for a new National Identification Card (it expires in September) and they took my picture. My resemblance to my late Auntie Ena is quite startling and at 65, there is precious little I can do about it.

chanteezer's avatar

Like you said, everyone does. I certainly do, but I spend next to no time worrying about it. I’m a big girl, but I’m pretty fabulous as well, and I don’t think worrying about the way I look on the outside is worth my time. I work to improve myself on the inside, as corny as it may sound.

proXXi's avatar

I dislike that I don’t appear more often.

I’m getting out more to fix that.

Nad92's avatar

I got a killer body clothes on .ive never been fat but I have stretch marks on my breasts innter arms, my sides and thighs and the back of my knees! Not to mention those damned ingrowning hairs on my bum and the back Of my thighs! I’m going to have laser threatment for them! Soon
