Anyone tried lots of Yoplait flavors?

Asked by avvooooooo (8880points) August 31st, 2009

Do you have a favorite flavor? Do you like the different textured ones? Is there one that sounds weird, but tastes really good (i.e. the Piña Colada flavor)? What’s your take on yogurt?

Trying to ingest more non-cheese, non-ice cream dairy. :P

Yess…..My favorites are the Light Apple Turnover and Pineapple Upside Down Cake. They are yummers. Old favorites are Cherry and Blueberry. I tend to like the ones with real chunks of fruit in them, although the one that tastes like a creamsicle and the Key Lime Pie are delicious.

I heard there was a coffee flavored one… I’m going to avoid that like the plague.

I love yogurt (Yoplait is pretty much the only brand that I eat) because it tastes good, it’s filling, and it isn’t much. I love the different kinds including the regular, the light, the whipped, and custard-style. My favorite flavors are Apricot/Peach/Mango, whipped Chocolate & Raspberry, and Boston Cream Pie.

I agree with @Les in that I love the ones with real chunks of fruit in them.

My kids like the Yoplait “Whips.” It has a light and fluffy texture. I don’t buy them often, or eat them myself, because of the artificial sweetener. It tastes nasty to me. :( There’s a chocolate one they like, as well as Key Lime Pie and Orange Cream. My daughter likes the Boston Cream Pie flavor and Apple Turnover.

I like my yogurt fruity and with real sugar. Right now my favorite is a Greek yogurt called Chobani (not sure if I spelled that right). The pineapple flavor is really, really good! It’s thicker and tangier than other yogurts. I stir in some toasted wheat germ for an extra little boost. When I want to really have a treat, I’ll crush a gingersnap cookie into the peach yogurt. Mmmmm!

The thick an creamy weirds me out. It looks like it’s gone bad. I love all the flavors, but strawberry with cheddar goldfish crackers is aaaammmmmazing. (Don’t knock it til you try it.)

I’m not overly fond of the traditional goopy texture. I’ve tried the whips, but I get bored easily. Are the thick and creamy ones still goopy? Or really more custard-y?

There’s a Pomegranate/Berry mix that’s tasty, my current flavor and I eat a yogurt every day.

I’m going to have to go to the next town over with some grocery stores that are less basic. I think I’m going to start doing more yogurt, but the selection here is very limited.

@avvooooooo: is there an evil Wal Mart or CostCo in you area? Both of those stores carry the variety-packs of Yoplait, I think Whole Foods does also.

@avvooooooo I wouldn’t describe the Greek yogurt as “custardy,” just…thicker. It takes a good bit of stirring to get it all smooth with the fruit mixed in. There’s another brand, I think called Fage, that has the fruit separate from the yogurt. You aren’t supposed to stir it, just scoop up a bit of yogurt, dip it into the fruit, and eat it. I don’t know why it’s not meant to be stirred though, but it does taste better un-stirred (the first time I had some, I didn’t know about the stirring thing).

The regular strawberry is the only kind that doesn’t disgust me.

@hungryhungryhortence Walmarts are 20+ minutes away. It requires a special trip to get to a Walmart. I don’t think there’s a Whole Foods… 2 hours away at the very least. We have a Harvey’s and a Piggly Wiggly. Yeah.

Stupid town. Need to get out!

I just recently tried three flavors of the Greek yogurt, Chobani at Costco. It was really great. Nice and thick and also has a tanginess to it.

The Yoplait key lime pie is absolutely the best.

Anyone tried the lemon whipped one?

Buttonstc's avatar

Yeah. The flavor is good and so is the chocolate mousse but the whipped ones are the same price as the others. I just have an aversion to paying for half a container of air. :)

That’s also why I won’t buy the Edy’s double churned or whatever the precise term for it is. They try to make it sound extra special and worth more or something. All it really means is that it has twice as much air per volume for which the consumer is paying.
And that’s supposed to be special?? Not to me. No thanks. :)

@hungryhungryhortence – I, too, am a fan of the Pomegranate/Berry (actually mine is Pomegranate/Blackberry) flavor. I have a refrigerator pack of it right now.

I also love Key Lime, Raspberry, and Vanilla. In addition, I love a good Greek yogurt with broiled or braised chicken, or with fresh berries, honey, and walnuts.
