Is today your lucky day? what are your indications that this is your lucky day?

Asked by john65pennington (29258points) January 24th, 2010

Each morning, when i wake up, i can tell if this is going to be a good day or not. most of the time, i just feel it. as the day progresses, i look for other good luck signs, like when everything just seems to fall into place and i accomplish tasks without really making an effort. is this a good time to play the lottery or some other form of gambling? do you have good luck signs?

@john65pennington, really? Are you sure you aren’t setting yourself up for a self fulfilling prophecy? I mean, I don’t know, if you’re having that feeling, go for it and drop a couple bucks on a quick pick. I was just wondering about the opposite, if you felt it was going to be a bad day if you then set yourself up for, you know, errors, accidents, frustrations, or whatever. I’ll check back with this later…

Oh, goodness. I’m awake, and my body is functioning as it was designed to. Today is my lucky day. That’s enough for me.

Well, if I am having a good day, I try my best not to do something that will likely depress me… such as trying to win the lottery, haha.

As far as “luck signs” , it is includes waking up to a quiet house (because that means every one is gone and I don’t have to deal with the stress), a beautiful day outside, feeling energized and not sleepy, and of course happy people (the less happy that people appear to me, the worse my day becomes).

I don’t think of days as being unlucky or lucky. I just think of them as alive with possibility.

I don’t really think that a good day is the same as a lucky day. A good day is when you’re in a good mood and everything is working pretty well. A lucky day is when you win the lottery.

But I do know what you mean about knowing when you wake up what kind of day it’s gonna be. For instance, when I wake up with dry skin and there’s something cotton near me, my day’s ruined. I don’t exactly know why, I know it’s strange, but that’s how it works.

ChocolateReins….....does cotton really have that effect on your skin? this is a first for me. what do you sleep on. plastic sheets?

@john65pennington I really don’t know if has a specific effect, but I know that I hate to touch the stuff they put in medicine bottles. I think that stuff is cotton – is it? When I have dry hands I hate to touch it because it just doesn’t feel right. I don’t know why. I sleep on normal sheets…Maybe it’s just the more raw stuff that does that.
