What do you think about this stunt or action?

I use to live in Chicago, and it get’s cold in the winter, very cold. I used to go to the Art Museum there on Michigan Ave. I’d go in the dead of winter wearing my down jacket with just a wife beater tank top underneath. I would check my jacket in at the Museum and walk out to the street and stand on the sidewalk. I would light up a smoke and nonchalantly smoke it. People would walk by and assume I was homeless and had no winter jacket. I would get the strangest reactions from people, it was a riot. People would offer me money, and try and help me out somehow. I could stand the below zero degree chill for about as long as that cigerette, then I would go inside and enjoy the art.

What is the point of this story?

I’m with rangerr. I guess I find it silly?

I think two things.

1) to elicit the compassion of strangers for your own private amusement is distasteful and bizarre.

2) you should stop smoking.

So that was YOU!! Truthfully I am surprised anyone here even noticed.

I think that it’s pretty cool that you can stand below zero temperatures, but if you have to have a cigarette to do it then not so great.

Did you ever except the money?

I think whatever the emoticon for eyeroll is.

It might be a good idea for people who get their income from hustling on the street, but otherwise it sounds pretty silly to do it for entertainment.

I think it’s entirely forgettable, uninteresting, and not in the least amusing.

Ok I get it, it was a lame thing to do. But I did it at first because the cold felt good, then I noticed how people reacted and I thought it was funny. If you factor in how cold it was, it was a “had to be there” kind of thing. I wouldn’t do it again, couldn’t. Thanks for the answers.
