Why can't I access my old "question"?

Asked by AstroChuck (37609points) November 4th, 2010 from iPhone

[REDACTED] is the post I’m referencing.
It’s not really so much a question as a game. But I am unable to access it. It is a very long thread so I understand that it should take a while to load up, but I just can’t get it to load at all. I’ve tried both on my home computer as well as my mobile device. Anyone else have any success with this? Is there a limit to how long a thread can be and it has reached that limit?

@AstroChuck Just tried on my iPhone and MacBook and it won’t open on either. How long is the thread? I have opened some with over 300 responses today!

Sorry I had to remove the link since it was taking down the whole site.

So here’s the issue. It’s got a million answers (some questions have over 1100) and it’s very very very very hard on the system to display it. I removed the link since it took all of Fluther down when you posted the question. Be patient and don’t hit refresh too many times. That will tie up the system multiple times and make it worse. We’ll work making those display without taking everything down (we’ve already made multiple improvements in this area). We’d like to avoid pagination but we’ll probably have to paginate after say 200 responses.

Please don’t post the link to it again. It’s not that we don’t want people to see it, it’s just we don’t want everyone to click it at once since that will take down the site.

@timtrueman- Sorry. I enjoy causing a little mayhem every once and a while but It was never my intent to bring down the house.

It locked up my iPhone. I guess it as just too freaking awesome to be seen by mere mortals.

:::edit after reading Tims post – it IS so awesome that it makes iPhones faint and servers swoon. ::::::

@OreetCocker- I can’t remember exactly but I think it’s around 1600.

Maybe we should start a new game: “Find @AstroChuck‘s question and post the answer here.” The first person to crash the site wins!! ~
