Replacement MP3 or phone for an iPod Touch 4G?

Asked by 2CDenzy (442points) March 9th, 2011

Recently my iPod Touch (Fourth Generation 64GB) stopped working. I filed a claim with my insurance and they are going to give me a check refunding the purchase. I now have roughly $400 dollars to spend on a new MP3 player and I am starting to lose faith in Apple Inc.

Does anyone know of another well rounded MP3 player or cell phone (I use Verizon) similar to an iPod Touch? I know there are other companies out than Apple but I don’t know much about them. If you have a suggestion could you give a comparison of Apple and your product?

There are quite a few Droid phones by Verizon that are very similar. Just check out their website to get more information on them.

Agree with @CupcakesandTea
I know many people who have switched from Apple to Android and not one has been disappointed.

My friend said she was so upset with waiting in line with her kids to get the ipod I guess they only had a few in stock she was not able to get one; so she is also looking for something else like the Android.

I would also recommend an Android phone. I bought the HTC Desire a few months ago and it’s not let me down once. It costs around The major downside is that it only supports up to 32GB microSD cards, so you won’t be able to store as much music on it as your old iPod.. I’m also pretty sure you can get them for less than $400.
