How do I vote as an Ex-Pat with no set date of return?

Asked by JonnyCeltics (2721points) May 6th, 2008

I have a home address in the states where bills and such are sent to, so would that be my point of reference? As in, is that the state in which I vote or register? Help!

This site has voter registration information by state. You have to be a citizen and live in the state you register in. Simply recieving mail there does not qualify you.

I took a look at the site provided by Scamp. I looked at Mass, since you didn’t mention which state, figured maybe Boston Celtics. Anyway it appears if you resided there prior to living outside the country you maybe a specially qualified voter

Who is otherwise eligible to register and whose present domicile is outside the US.
Whose last domicile in the US, was Massachusetts.

If not Mass., I suggest looking at Scamps link for your previous state of residence, under absentee ballot.

Another good site with info and assistance for overseas U.S. voters is the Overseas Voting Foundation. I’ve only used them for Virginia forms and information, so I don’t know if the Massachusetts information is as good.
