Does anyone have an opinion on doggie poo septic tanks?

Asked by zzztimbo (61points) June 19th, 2007

Is the primary advantage the fact that the poo doesn't sit in the garbage and stink up everything? I was wondering if anyone recommends getting one of these things.

Here is an example of one: http://tinyurl.com/ypjbe4

That’s got to be the most ridiculous device I’ve ever seen. It doesn’t matter if it’s human or dog waste, it’s still waste. Just flush it down the toilet. Why would you spend extra to have a doggie septic tank?

They’re supposed to provide an out-of-sight mess free way to dispose of the poo and a means for it to break down naturally. One big drawback is it only works in warmer temperatures, therefore making it obselete during winter months if the ground freezes where you live.
