Why do my feet feel so good after I lotion them?

Asked by Moegitto (2310points) January 2nd, 2012

I was getting out of the shower tonight, and going through all my after shower basics. Lotion the legs, put on pants, then lotion the feet. After I lotioned up my feet, they felt surprisingly good. I’m not a person that applies lotion everyday, so I was wondering why lotion would feel so good on my feet?

Well, if you have dry skin it is soothing. Whether or not you have dry skin, a nice little foot rub always feels good.

Was it tea tree or peppermint lotion?

@judochop It’s good ole’ fashioned Cocoa Butter

It might have been the foot massage action of putting on the lotion. Our feet take a lot of abuse.

Massage is generally thought to be a comforting thing. So are certain smells and moisturizing skin also makes it feel better. It’s like being at a spa!
