Can you help me figure out how to fix my hat creases?

So far I’ve tried inserting a cut out of cardboard #3 (http://imgur.com/UFIDe)

I would immerse it in water to soften, they usually have that stiff stuff behind the logo and then shape it while it is wet and let it dry on something round, maybe a small kettle to make sure the crease doesn’t return while it dries. I throw those hats in the washer after I run, water doesn’t seem to hurt them, I have one that has probably been washed 50 times or so and is still going strong.
