What do you think about the illuminati theory?

Asked by Shippy (10015points) March 7th, 2013

In brief for those that do not know, it supposedly consists of a group of elite people who are controlling the world. A secret society, enlightened in ways that regular people like us, will never know about. What goes on in this society is hidden. But there are accusations such as Madonna and other very rich and powerful people belonging to this organization. Which is said to be filtered down mainly by Government.

What I do find interesting is a lot of the signage in their choreographic sequences is used. Almost as if paying homage to this group.

I admit that, now that I am aware of it, I see it more and more?

JFK was said to be assassinated because of wanting to reveal their existence. Julian Lennon was shot because he too allegedly wanted to reveal their well hidden secrets. Even Charles Manson speaks of them, many years ago.

Any thoughts? any insights, is it hogwash? or any grains of truth for you?

I think it’s bogus. As proof I offer the House and Senate. Out of control idiots.

KNOWITALL's avatar

I guess I don’t really care, but I think it’s hogwash since you asked.

JFK was assasinated by our own country or we would have went to war with Cuba.

I think you may have meant John Lennon instead of his son, Julian.

Berserker's avatar

I wonder if Bruce Lee was ’‘assassinated’’ because he refused to join the Illuminati’s elite Kung Fu Force.

Adirondackwannabe's avatar

@Symbeline No. I heard he got it for always playing Kung Fu Fighting on his boom box during the meetings.

Berserker's avatar

Either that, or chuck Norris was still all butthurt about getting some of his hair chest ripped away.

Adirondackwannabe's avatar

@Symbeline LMAO. But we better be careful or we’ll totally hijack this thread.

Coloma's avatar

Right up there with all conspiracy theories, maybe true, maybe not, most likely a grain of truth to everything, but a single grain does not a bushel make. lol

tom_g's avatar

Completely legit. So is this.

Wait. Did I say “legit”? I meant to say “complete bullsh*t”.

Adirondackwannabe's avatar

I was going to say look at all the fighting and carnage in the world, but it made me think. If you wanted some violent and bloody entertainment, you wouldn’t want it to occur in your high rent districts. You’d want it in places were they don’t have anything anyways. I hope they don’t catch on that I’m on to them.

ucme's avatar

I’m in the dark on this one.

Shippy's avatar

@Symbeline No, but his son Brandon Lee was killed by a gun misfire.

KNOWITALL's avatar

@Shippy I think the evil Raven took over his soul, remember his movie?! lol

So many things go on in the world that we will never fully understand the reasons as to why they happen because governments feel that we are not worthy of knowing the reasons. There is of course also the Bilderberg Group that meet basically in secret each year where they are full of ex-presidents, financial people, people in education, industry and more and there is no doubt that they discuss a lot of issues that will affect us in some way.

Over the centuries there have been various groups that are deemed to be secret and able to control us in some way, such as the masons, so why should the illuminati not exist? Why should their symbolism not appear in various formats?

Jaxk's avatar

We are outside the system, above the system, we are the Men in Black.

Luiveton's avatar

Well since I’m guessing no one here is an Illuminati member we wouldn’t know whether they exist or not. How can you expect an answer from people who aren’t part of the group, assuming there is one?

Adirondackwannabe's avatar

@Luiveton How do you know one of us isn’t a member? Don’t you think they’d want to keep an eye on this bunch of radicals? They could have infiltrated a member posing as a regular jelly.

Shippy's avatar

@Adirondackwannabe Ah! I knew you were acting strangely.

Adirondackwannabe's avatar

@Shippy Crap, pinched again. :)

jerv's avatar

The truth is rather stranger than you think. Read The Illumininatus Trilogy to get a small hint, and realize that what is actually happening is far more convoluted. Those that think they are part of The Conspiracy are pawns of pawns at best.

DominicX's avatar

I don’t think the world is actually that interesting, unfortunately.

tom_g's avatar

@DominicX – To the contrary. I liken conspiracy theorists to people who cook up supernatural explanations for the natural. The universe is so awe-inspiring and mindblowing, that it is seem superfluous to inject the supernatural. Conspiracy theorists inject all kinds of unnecessary insanity to explain power, rather than engage in reasonable institutional analysis. The world is pretty interesting – more interesting than any conspiracy theorist can imagine.

I always thought it fnord was made up by Robert Shea and Robert Anton Wilson.

YARNLADY's avatar

You folks have parts of it wrong. There is both an Illuminati and and anti-illuminati. The anti forces kill of the promising members of the real Illuminati to try to halt the development of humanity into a cosmos-class society.

augustlan's avatar

I think most conspiracy theories, including this one, are ridiculous. Think of all those people, having to keep their mouths shut for all this time…it’s just so unlikely! As Benjamin Franklin said, “Three may keep a secret, if two of them are dead.”

jerv's avatar

@mrentropy That is what they want you to think. Hide the truth in plain sight, but present it in such an outlandish fashion that anybody who believes it is considered insane.

@YARNLADY… except that the anti-Illuminati are themselves just another branch of the Illuminati.

JoeyOhSoClever's avatar

i dont think all the theories about the illuminati are true. However, I dont see why it wouldnt be logical to think there are things that happened deep in deep history or recent history that have been recorded but hidden from the public today. It would be possible an individual or group knows this information and that there are consequences severe enough to keep people quiet. As in if you spill the information it could possibly lead to end of human of civilization. Who in the hell would risk the extinction of the human species? That is one thing that could withhold a group from revealing a secret. There are a lot of reasons I could give. I am sure they are ways they can make sure you are worthy of even knowing the secret, they wouldnt just allow anyone to know, obviously. I am NOT saying that I 100 percent believe that such a group exist but if I can think of ways to coordinate a group like this its possible there are much more intelligent people that can really come up with bullet proof plans to run such a group.

serenade's avatar

There’s plenty of information (and crap) available to make your own decision. As to insight, in my experience it’s a matter of seeing or not seeing more than anything else.

RealEyesRealizeRealLies's avatar

Illuminati spoofarati. What a hoax. When I want secret enlightenment, I’ll stick with my ouija board. We all know that Parker Brothers has the market share on forbidden knowledge.

YARNLADY's avatar

Keep in mind that anyone or any group can call themselves Illuminati. That name has only been around for a few hundred years.

The actual enlightened individuals who have tried for millennia to improve the human condition are very good at covering their tracks.

ebasboy's avatar

If people want to know about things that are concealed and no one is allowed to get revelation of it by the victimized people, there is a high probability that speculations about them are true. Why would people hold information of public interests?
When I was compelled to follow up speculations about the secret societies I found them to be true, why because people who publish these stories seem to be very informed and presents very logical stories . If all these are bogus then why can’t we be permited to make our personal audits into these areas where all these things are happening.
These things make me crazy

mattbrowne's avatar

Baseless conspiracy theory. This is why they don’t appear in reputable history books.

serenade's avatar

Here’s a page from a letter written by George Washington from the Library of Congress website that references the Illuminati.

RealEyesRealizeRealLies's avatar

Hi @serenade… What’s interesting about that letter, the Illuminati is referred to as “the doctrine of the Illuminati” and is compared to “the principles of Jacobinism”.

The two of which seem such opposites, with Illuminati as a secret to support covert control over populations, but Jacobinism a very public terrifying support of the people for equality.

Shinimegami's avatar

Is “gojira no kuso” (colossal nonsense) say it exist now! Illuminati exist at Bavaria 1776–1785, ruler ban it then. Is group of intellectuals. It exist when George Washington live. Is absurd conspiracy theory have no proof claim it exist now. Dumb celebrities cannot join real Illuminati, they too dumb.
