What's a good incense/leather/smoke/spice perfume?

Asked by Evoru (88points) July 7th, 2013

Looking for a perfume (for men or women…perfumes shouldn’t have genders) that smells of incense, leather, smoke, and spice, or a combination of a few of those things. I’m sick of light, floral, citrus scents and could really do with a change.

It must be a perfume that’s currently available. It does me precious little good when someone remembers the “perfect” scent that got discontinued twelve years ago.

I’m with you – I hate women’s perfume. I have yet to find something that I love, however.
I do like the scent description of #9 here.

There is a perfume by Tom Ford called Tobacco Vanille. This is a review for it. It sounded different so I bought a sample online and I hate it. It is the only perfume I’ve found that gives me a headache and I seriously had to go and have a shower to get rid of it when I sprayed it on. As this review suggests it’s a BIG smell and it lasts and lasts. I could still smell it after the shower! People seem to really like it but it wasn’t for me.

My male friend alternates this Gucci and this Burberry and I lke both very much at first but the Gucci wears down to a patchouli undernote which you either love or hate (I am in the hater camp). The Burberry smells smoky/outdoorsy and not overwhelming and I could see it being a shared-gender fragrance.

Sounds like you are describing patchouli

I’m almost embarrassed to admit this, but I still love the smell of Old Spice.
