How often do you believe celebrities get away with Boorish, obnoxious, or rude behavior because they are famous?

I am sure if you ask just about anyone to name an obnoxious, rude, arrogant celebrity, they will produce a name. Acts and behaviors certain celebrities do often seem to go unchallenged; the obnoxious behavior often even elevates the popularity of the celebrity who had done it, or is doing it. As for the US, can’t say what it is like in other nations, have we gotten so smitten with the famous that they can do things and act in way we would blast others for doing, that we find it cute, interesting or noteworthy?

Your brain would explode if you lived in the UK. Twenty seasons in and being on Big Brother can make you famous.

If a bloke lasted more than half of a Big Brother UK season, and was quite popular on the shop, would he be able to fling his tea cup down the aisles because it was not made to his satisfaction? And if he did do that would people excuse his action or even support him and root him on? Basically, because he extended his 15 minutes of fame can he act like a twit and get away with it where an unknown person wouldn’t?

Non celebrities can be MUCH worse. I think we are finally coming to realize celebs also make mistakes, have issues, have character flaws. Unfortunately, we have no superhumans to choose from when we pick our celebs.

TYI, in my country the “Boorish, obnoxious, or rude behavior” is the main reason some celebrities get famous :(

I don’t think celebrities get away with anything anymore. 40 years ago, sure, John Wayne would tell you to get lost if you asked for an autograph, but now-a-days, nope not at all.

Look at all that Lindsay Lohan has “gotten away“with. There are a million people with cameras and cell phones, a celebrity can’t fart without it being on twitter or facebook in about ten seconds.

If you looked at the punishment she received for what she ”hasn’t gotten away with”, is paltry compared to what you or I would have received for the same thing. She and a few other unlucky schleps are a small minority over the vast population of celebrities.
