I enjoying reading about astrology, but I don’t really believe in them. Some are right about me, some are not.
I am an Aries, and we Aries don’t believe in the Zodiac. People’s lives and attitudes cannot be predicted due to the time of year they were born. That’s the kind of thing Libras buy into.
An utter waste of time.

Apparently, WE don’t believe in astrology. Is that true for you? As far as I am concerned, I believe that there may be a degree of truth to that.

Ex GF’s two sisters are twins:
One blew her brains out with her BF’s pistol.
The other was relieved of her leg by a boat propeller on Lake Lanier.
All of the “descriptions” that describe the behaviors of each of the zodiac signs are generalizations and can fit anyone, so most of the time they are correct, but they would be just as correct for a Libra as they would be for a Taurus or an Aries.
If the zodiac was correct, then every single person who was born on the same day would be exactly alike in their mannerisms, interests and proclivities. They aren’t. That debunks the whole thing right there.
To me signifies that people will believe in anything that seems to give meaning and order to their existence. The stars have nothing to do with this—we must do it for ourselves.
I’m also an Aries, and I find astrology interesting. Not the fortune telling part, but the personality type part. In the 70’s, when I was really into it, I could tell what sign a person was after I got to know them a bit. It is kind of interesting, kind of fun, but not an exact science.
Every type A personality I have ever known has been a fire sign. My sister and sister-in-law are both Virgos and they are both so vain that it is almost sickening. I went on a cruise with my sister-in-law, and we missed breakfast every morning because I had to wait for her to get dressed, fix her face, do her hair, curl her eyelashes, ugh!
Every best friend I have ever had has been a Libra. I just gravitate to Libras as friends.
Astrology may be crazy and make no scientific sense, but there is something about it . . .
It’s less harmless than a lot of other superstitions. There’s a young couple on our block. At a frozen margarita party a couple of months back, the husband, happy and clearly under the influence, announced that he and the wife are planning for their first child to be an Aries. The 80 year old neighborhood dowager (also feeling no pain) cracked “much better to be born under the dollar sign, dear”
It is not something that consider seriously. But it is kind of fun to read and think about.
It’s fun to read, but not real. My ex wife and my last girlfriend are both Taurus; a bit of dissonance that the same prediction applied to both of them at the same time.
(I just went and checked mine on Yahoo an don the SFGate website. Astrology fun is when they conflict you get to choose the one you want…)
A whole lot of nothing. The power of attribution, which seems to work in much the same ways as it does for people who say they can predict the future, and say they knew something was going to happen; like, after it happened.
Humanity’s gullibility and stupidity.
