General Question

Why is there no sound when I try to play YouTube clips? It was just fine earlier this evening.

Asked by Buttonstc (27605points) May 14th, 2016

A few hours earlier I listened to an old clip from Johnny Carson and everything was fine. Now even with the volume up to max, the picture plays but no sound (and yes I checked to make certain that I hadn’t accidentally pressed the slider down to nothing. )

I also did a reboot on the phone. It’s a Samsung Galaxy Core and it’s only a few months old.

Any ideas or suggestions?

Wow. Thanks, there were around a dozen things to try so I picked the simplest one first. I went into the Bluetooth settings and two seconds later I had sound.

They said it was something about ghosting making the phone think it’s connected to a Bluetooth speaker or something.

Oddly, the last time I even used Bluetooth was like 4–6 weeks ago so I still don’t understand why there was no problem in all the time that’s passed since then.

Very weird. But as long as it’s working without my having to get a replacement phone, I guess I’ll have to chalk it up to one of life’s conundrums.

I must say I’m a bit amazed by how many people are having “no sound” problems with their phones.

Anyhow, thanks Pachy.
